Yea "Sol" is mexican, taste so bad you need fruit in the bottle neck! For me Singha, is part of Thailand, and the first Singha at the hotel (Welcombe Drink) is always the best. after that the taste gets worst. I may be wrong but doesn't the "Beer Garden" have a selection of less common bottled german beers? Never had a good Guiness outside of Ireland, and that includes the UK!

I order Singha here when it's available, just to bring back pleasant memories of Thailand. The horrid taste, the humongous soap bubbles, ah the memories... They do have the nitrogen injector Guinness bottles here in the U.S. now, but it's still not the same as draught in a proper beer glass (this might be 50% psychological).

Draught Guinness is becoming more available here now - I believe it is brewed in Malaysia. Huntsman Pub, as already mentioned, Bulls Head near Villa, all the faux Irish bars etc. but at around Baht 300 per pint it's not cheap. Foodland and the Supermarket in the Emporium sell the "Draught Guinness" in a can with the Widget - at Baht 140 + each

I have been drinking Singha for years here but - don't know if it is my tasebuds finally giving out - recently the taste seems to hjave changed a lot - it is not nearly so "sharp", not a change for the better in my opinion. Anyone else noticed this?

Singha, it was reported in the business section of the Post recenetly, is to change its flavour for the first time in 50++ yrs. Reducing alcohol content from around 6 to 5 % (shame, really), and taking a bit of the bite out. I guess this is to make it more drinker friendly by the stubbie, without the need to add ice....

Don't drink Guiness outside Ireland - unlike the Irish Soccer Team, it does not travel. When in Ireland, don't drink anything else but I can say this as I live in the Emerald Isle. Anyway what else could you be drinking as you pontificate on why Waterford will win the Munster Hurling Final. Why has nobody mentioned that fine Thai brew called Chang? I have fine memories of drinking it on Ko Phang Yang but not so good memories of the incredible hangover. But seriously, is there anywhere in the LOS one can get those really good Belgian beers like Leffe Radieuse, Kwak, La Trappe, etc.
