If Gyaos was to follow the current political trends in TH he would understand that TRT are certaainly not going to allow the bars to go back to 4.00am closing. If Thaksin gets his hoped for 400 majoroty after the next election we may be lucky to hold on to 1.00am opening.

Apologies, I think may be in order. I now realise that I was referring to another group of bars, in Queens Park Plaza just past Larry's dive and two building sites in soi 22. So maybe as suggested the bars in washgington square did close, as I cannot recall any other group of bars and I walked several times a day along Soi 22. I expect now to be back in a few weeks, as I have a love affair to sort out!!
Incidentally, there seem to be efforts to raise the 'tone' of the area with a new supermarket and tailors opposite the QP hotel, besides the start of the Olympic parade. But when will 'they' (ie the new governor) do something about the dreadful footpaths? He might consider engaging the interest of the firms doing the 'boulevarding' in London Borough of Camden, no less!!
