I returned for a second visit to Dollhouse, this time with TJ. Actually, this might count as a second and third visit.
TJ and I came in from the rain and immediately went to the 2nd floor. Got a table where we could see the girls downstairs and at the same time have dancers on top of our table. TJ immediately acquired a cute one, and another appeared at my side. A pleasant time was had by all (or at least TJ and I and the girls were happy with their 2 LDs each).
It was at this point that I committed a major faux pas. I tipped my girl 100bt. She had been quite accommodating and I was in a happy mood. Realizing belatedly that I had put TJ in an awkward position, I compounded the error by tipping his girl 100bt. Instead of being grateful, she now wanted a tip from TJ. We left.
Had a pleasant dinner at Cactus Bar. And, this time I got the Kasteel Rouge brew - excellent. Then TJ suggested that we return to Dollhouse, but sit downstairs. The upstairs girls, he said (or at least I thought he said) don't come downstairs. We got seats right at the revolving stage. Almost immediately the 2 upstairs girls saw us and were right there.
I think "my" girl asked for a drink 3 times in 5 minutes. Having recovered from my insanity, I said "NO" 3 times. Finally they left.
Lessons learned. Sit upstairs - its a lot more fun. But, be careful about tips (and money in general) and try to think before you act.

TJ and I got to Dollhouse on Thursday about 15 minutes before happy hour ended at 9:30. Ordered a nam soda, which I got for 65bt.
Place upstairs was pleasant enough, and full. We shared a table with another guy,. Nice looking naked dancer at our table.
The bell rung, signaling the end of happy hour. Immediately the servers start pestering me to order another drink. I say no. Probably had to say no 7 times to 4 different servers - quite annoying. I figure ordering something I could get at 7/11 for 12bt at 65bt is enough of a cover charge. Paying 10 times that during non-happy hour isn't happening. Am I getting to start thinking like a local???
I hold onto my glass, as I want the ice. But, as soon as I turn away to say something to TJ they grab my glass and take it away.
Enough! I pay and leave.

I just thought I'd let members know I was in Dollhouse last night, a Saturday, and whilst there was a decent selection of girls (including some lively dancers) punters were very thin on the ground. The girls were spontaneously approaching customers in the attempt to get a bar fine, including a very pretty one who even approached me - and believe me, I am not a hansum man! I was not partaking, having had a satisfactory session at Victoria Mssage, but surely there are some opportunities here for my fellow forum members!

Quack quack, point taken! Perhaps a more salient observation is that I was approached despite the presence of several Japanese potential customers. The point still stands though that the girls seem desperate for customers.

Hi Thailien, I only went downstairs as my aim was solely to look at the dancing girls and have a beer. But, as I mentioned, this was a Saturday night, and the point I didn't mention, it was around about 9-10 I was there. Given dry weather I was very surprised it wasn't busier! I share your liking for the place and I'll certainly be trying it again.

Dollhouse update: May 2014. Soi Cowboy.
Dollhouse used to be my go-to bar on soi Cowboy: pretty girls, long happy hour, naked girls upstairs dancing on tables, good attitudes.
Sadly my recent experiences have not been as happy, and I now avoid this bar and do not recommend that others go there when there are so many other bars.
A management change has brought in a manager who pushes the girls very hard to sell lady drinks, and, according to several girls who work there, whom I know well, treats the girls badly, with arbitrary fines and salary reductions and generally harsh behavior. The girls are not happy, and it shows in their attitudes in the bar.
Two nights ago I approached a girl dancing on a table, pretty, turns out she is a coyote dancer, and asked 1000 baht bar fine (usual is 600) and 5000 baht to go out with me (2000 ST and 3000 LT are more usual). And then, after the manager spoke with her, her attitude hardened, and we didn't go out, even if I had been willing to pay the price. Girls inform me that manager is angry at a former dancer at DH, who came into the bar briefly with me. So not only is the former dancer on the manager's shit list, now I am too, for being friends with former dancer.
Bad management, bad treatment of employees, bad vibes, bad attitudes, I am never going back to Dollhouse.
