Not only did you give unequivocally the wrong information in your original post to the board, you attempted to kill the discussion by calling it "hair-splitting." Your apology said nothing other than to point out you were in fact factually incorrect. Which would have been more than clear to everyone else in a few more posts, so it was only self-serving to make such an admission. I don't recall you apologizing for attempting to curtail the discussion on this very important topic. I don't recall you apologizing for telling people it was unreasonable to ask for a BF back if your girl ditches you once you step outside the bar. And so on, and so on, ...
I can fully understand why you prefer to surround yourself with people who let your BS slide without any accountability.

I've posted on this subject many times and all the quotes and websites mentioned so far have been provided by me and others. Maybe I just should have said UTFSE? How about going to to the topics page and just looking for the string "consent"?

My understand is that it is not illegal to sleep with a prostitute who is not under 18 (by the normal definition of age). There are cases where it is legal to sleep with a girl (or boy) under 18, but there is a specific statute that makes it illegal in the case of prostitution. I don't believe the laws are different for Thai and Farang men, but a Farang will probably have a very difficult time convincing the police and a judge that his relationship was not one of prostitution (even buying her dinner could be misconstrued if they want to prosecute you).
The silly "19 years old" rule Nokna was following usually comes from people who are trying to figure out the age from the IDs. If you subtract the birth year from the current year and come up with 19 you're safe. If it's 18, you can't be sure (unless you can read Thai dates).
I'm not aware of any law that says sex with a 19 yo prostitute/bargirl constitutes underage sex. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but I find it highly unlikely.
It is unreasonable to expect me to post the complete digest every time this topic comes up. In this case I reiterated to DG my request that he show some documentation that what is so transparently obvious on doing ANY research, is incorrect. And in fact dumping a load of references and quotes on him in the first post would have been considered far more "belligerent." I gave him a graceful out to admit he was mistaken, he chose to bury his head in the sand (as you usually do as well). Through it all, I graciously kept open the option that there is some obscure law or loophole that is the basis for all this confusion. Posting my source of facts immediately would effectively kill any hope of someone finding info to the contrary.
You apparently enjoy rehashing the same tired arguments over and over. Now you post your TAT references as if it was some kind of revelation to the board and that you are doing us a favor.
I do like to get as close to the truth as is possible so we can move on. Something you obviously prefer not to do. Your method of debate is fine for a bar where nothing ever, ever gets resolved. If this forum is just an extension of a bar, and no more, then your style is perfectly suited (although I've never seen the appeal of a bar where there is no alcohol and no women).
By the same token I should not have to look up every single CDC and WHO report to call BS when someone says that a BBBJ is extremely dangerous to result in getting HIV.
Wouldn't your time be better spent complaining about people posting unsanctioned pictures of titties and the many threads where people use the girls' real names? The fact that you would spend so much time arguing with me in a situation where I am 100% in the right, while neglecting your BG crusader role is very telling about where your priorities lie.

I think the MPs will not be affected at all, in fact, they will get stronger from it. After the October summit, it will be the same as usual. I agree, most of this is just show. I think the full operation and safety of the underground subway, the extension of the BTS, attempts to curb polution clouds and the stray dog problem are more important and will be the top issues.
For tourism, it is the Japanese, Koreans and Chinese that control a large chunk of it. The farangs (white/pale face) are just around a few areas, so that is why Nana was targetted by the gov. Nana was in the news as a terrorist target (from a bundle of extremist pigs), so I look at it as a plus that the Deputy Prime Minister walked through there. Looks to me to be quite safe and protection will be reinforced for the farangs, rather than against. I got a laugh last year when he found a condom and was "shocked". He's not that naive.
I am surprised at the appointment to the level of Deputy Prime Minister, however! Quite impressive!
As for any American influence, it is just not true. The Americans will be doing a little election power of their own come 2004 to get a new administration which was unelected to begin with. They have their own problems coming. At that time, there will be great trips to The Kingdom! I think the US and Thailand should be stronger allies, if not the strongest in Southeast Asia. The Kingdom of Thailand already has a great image.

You certainly have a high opinion of yourself, don't you? I don't read your posts any more than anyone else's, but since you crap all over everyone else's threads they are hard to avoid.
If you had an ounce of intelligence and self-awareness you would notice that I don't follow you around pointing out your many errors. However, you have made a habit of harrassing anyone you suddenly find distasteful. You post the most irrelevant and inane things you can apparently think of just to kill their threads. I am not the only person to have noticed this and your strategy of making people afraid to confront you directly actually seems to be working pretty well. Some are even afraid of making grammatical mistakes and thus incurring your wrath.
The BF issue I referred to above is a typical example of your anarchistic effect on the board. ÝYour memory is so short-lived that you don't even recall that it was you, unreferenced and unsolicited, who attacked my post in this very thread?

I've finally finished reading this thread. It had many extremely informative points, facts and issues. Then, Mr Chompoo joined in and well and truly f_cked it up with his arrogant, over critical analysis. I'm 110% behind you on this one ham suup, I've read many of Chompoos smug, twatty postings on various subjects and I, like you don't like his style. It's all about me, me, me!!!!! Admittedly, he's clearly very articulate but so was Hitler! I bet he's a f_cking nightmare to go for a drink with! Always got to be right and always have the last say. Apparently your skills at critical analysis need a little polishing if you can't find the single post where this thread took a turn into bizarro world. Try going through it again and look for the first instance of trolling and antagonism.
I see you're still smarting from when you couldn't defend your position that bargirls were incapable of choosing to not use a condom.
When you find an instance where I was incorrect I will apologize. I will not apologize for being brutally honest and not letting people like you and DG off the hook for their ridiculous statements.
