all soi 33 girls I had were freebies, after I spend some serious amounts over a while in their bars. after a while all of them will feel that they will have to pay you back if the genuinely like you!
only problem is that this approach does require a little time that people coming into town for a couple of days usually don't have!
if you want to go for the quick way, the approachable girls on 33 usually are good to go for everything upwards of thb 2 - 2.5K plus the barfine!

Ditto on the "personal fees". The barfines are definitely spendy (1,200 to 1,500) but the contractors on 33 are not much higher than other venues. Certainly not 2-3 times higher. Grif's number is pretty good in my experience; moreover the trend is south because the whole 33 market is slower than it has been in the past.
DrL: all I can say is that I started the post a lot earlier than I finished it. One thing led to another, you might say... I'm good hearted, but don't tolerate fools well. CC's got it right when he says "just check it out" but then we wouldn't have much of a thread.

This new place Timbevati with the huge fake tusks at the entrance billing itself as a "bbq steakhouse" may turn out to be a useful addition to the 33 scene. Not yet completely finished, it's a "bar" with a couple of decent pool tables, a restaurant (choose your own food for grilling) and boutique hotel (in about a month) with 20 rooms. Even has a pool, though not yet operational... great infrastructure, though it's ambient temp with no aircon.
Located directly across from the mouth of Soi Office, this could be a winner. Not many girls yet (some from the Soi 22 scene) but the ones they've hired are the wild type... The owner is S. African... a very ambitious concept.

Tu's english is better than BG average and she is lively, but she carries too big a roll for my taste - a very customer oriented hostess however.
I tried the food recently, and found it very unsatisfactory. I have never understood how grilled meat can be f_cked up (other than overcooking) but both the beef and pork were dessicated and tough. The thai food is slightly better, but uninspired. Pity because the pool area in back is a pleasant break from the 33 hustle. The current word is that the hotel rooms will be ready about mid July.
