Another difference between the Soi 33 BF and the gogo BF is that on Soi 33 the girl gets a significant cut of the BF (I don't remember the exact proportion but I think about 50%), whereas at a gogo she doesn't.

I know you understand the basics of employer/employee rights and responsibilities. ÝAnd so do I. ÝThis is more of a discussion about implicit obligation of a non-contract employee to provide sexual services without explicit consent. ÝIn other words, a punter pays a bar owner a sum of money and the bar owner compels, either by threat of loss of job, or in some cases by physical force, that employee to provide sex to the third party.
The fact that 'everybody' knows that this is the way it works in Thailand is irrelevant. ÝNobody who had ever been there would dispute that fact. ÝAnd I am NOT in anyway decrying prostitution. ÝI participate in it, as does the girl I pay, whether MP girl, BG or freelancer. ÝI am less comfortable, however, with the idea that paying money to a barowner, requires his employee to submit to sex, if she is not otherwise inclined to do so.
If you pay a barfine, more than that fact is required to ensure that sex will be the final outcome. ÝThat is my point. ÝIt requires the consent of the girl.
I would only add that if I wasn't sure of the outcome, and not willing to accept some uncertainty, without crying foul, I would damn sure come to an explicit agreement before paying the barfine.
To paraphrase an otherwise inane poster, "Hiding the truth [behind an implicit 'agreement'] only benefits the dishonest".

I have known a number of Soi 33 girls... none of whom I met while at work. They are just as easy to pass mobile phone numbers to and sort out a meeting while they are off work. The ones I have been with seemed to understand the BF was too high and seemed to prefer day time sex on their way to work.

agree with you Yurune,
bar fines in soi 33 is in the range of Baht 1,500/- and
could be cheaper at around Baht 1,300/- on a Sunday.
However, the ladies does not expect sex as they are
simply expecting a dinner or night out when bar fined.
Now, if you want to get laid that is a different story
and have to negotiate with the girl. I do not know
any standard rate for s/t or l/t unlike the gogos
where you can have sort of price range. However,
there are girls who quoted me Baht 3500/- when
asked (i did not clarify whether that is for s/t or l/t). There are some who quoted me cheaper and higher than that as well...so it all probably depends on
how the girl values herself or how you both click
together. and yes, freebie is always possible just
like anywhere...

after all this philosophic talks before, here are some hard facts and numbers on the soi 33 bars. about 70% of the girls will have sex with you when you pay their barfines. you will have to make that more or less clear before what you expect. in my experience many of those girls barfined will go free with you especially if she likes you and you already paid some drinks for here too!
the others do expect about thb 1,500-2,000 for a short time and thb 2,000-3,000 for a long time!

Your over sympathetic nature is completely misplaced in the example you quote. You want to picture a BF as forced prostitution (tantamount to rape, IMO), when it is everything but that. Yes, a girl can lose her job if she doesn't sleep with the customers that BF her. That is not coercion or forced prostitution. She loses her job because her job is being a prostitute. If she doesn't prostitute, then she has no job! Do you feel the same sympathy for bartenders who get fired for taking money from the customers and refusing to serve them drinks? The BGs in a gogo know that when they accept a BF they are expected to provide sex; if they don't wish to provide sex they don't accept the BF.
How f_cking simple is that to comprehend? Too f_cking simple for an idiot such as you, apparently. I really don't enjoy having to berate a poster so much, but when you repeatedly waste my time (and others) with stuff that is so completely devoid of any real merit it is equivalent to being a troll.

Why would anyone pay 400-600 baht for the BF without knowing exactly what you will be doing with the lady once you leave the bar? I don't care if it seems crude or callous to discuss payment or services, it is your money after all and you should bother to take the time to simply ask the lady what she is willing to do and for how much.
