Went up to this place on my last trip. Did not like the setting.....you walk into a smallish place with lots of not so good looking girls all standing around ( behind hte counter ) looking at you. And not one smiled ! Did not even want to sit down to have a drink there. Don't waste your time......

The latest is that the local cops have cracked down and the girls must now wear bras under their lingerie. Jesus... a "lingerie" bar with bras? What is Bangkok coming to under Taksin?? 
Since almost all TGs have appalling (read cheap with foam) taste in brassieres, the visuals at Counter 39 have gone south another step. One less reason to patronize the place...

Business at this venerable lingerie bar has continued to erode, and rebranding the place to Magic last year has had no impact... apparently there is no longer sufficient market interest in this type of venue. Saturday June 3 will be their last night in business so those who have bottles open there (or simply want one last pass for the sake of nostalgia) should plan accordingly...
