I was wondering if SC has noticeably slowed down in the past few months, given all the economic turmoil across the planet? Fewer customers? Fewer girls? Better prices?
If anyone has been there in the past month, what's the scene like?
I'm thoroughly depressed here in the US, so I'm thinking of boarding a plane and heading for some boobs, butts, beer, and bags of bugs in Bangkok.

As a resident, I am there at least 3 times a month.
There are sure fewer customers. Not quite sure if fewer girls (I didn't count them) but still many of them.
I guess until some farang snaps them up, they will continue to do this work because it pays still better then working in a factory.
Looking at the Beer Garden, it seems to me more and more girls become freelance.

Ther a few weeks back on two mid week nights, I think a little slower early in the evening but the good bars are still busy plus the later/longer opening times have I think spread the punters out more. The Girl quality IMHO is better than Nana (has been for may months, I believe Rainbow 4 has f***ed Nana).
Shark has the best lookng girls but also the biggest ego girls!

If you settle for an enconomy plane ride it's down $150 from Nov., the xchg is decent, and if you can put the status of a BKK boutique designer hotel aside (I don't think the girls care and I know the fried bugs don't) I booked a plenty nice G/F room w/pool @ 800bt in PTY, easily half of that in The Big Smoke
There's 1000's of girls in PTY that would be more than happy to chase your blues away, Hell Club too, just my thought but W.S. has everything to offer if not more than S.C., haven't even got to Soi 6
I'm not a big money guy, but certain things I won't give up, 2 trips yrly to LOS, and if I need to sacrifice I'll make due w/one girl instead of two
Probably all worthless info to the BKK lovers, but when I read people hoping for the girls offering a lower rate, why not PTY to save baht?

Yes in general things are slower than they were earlier this year. But it did not start a couple of months ago, IMHO it really only started to noticeably slow down over the past couple of weeks. The best bars are still busy, even packed at times. But there are more and more off peak times during a night now than earlier in the year.
I don’t know if it is really related to the economy be slow so much as just the slowing down as another high season comes to a close.
Things are kind of strange thou – two weeks ago on a Tuesday it was really slow pretty much everywhere on Cowboy. Then this past week on Tuesday it was fairly busy – go figure?

Thank you for your responses. I'm buying my ticket tomorrow. I just need to get away from all the economic chaos in this country, as I think things are going to get worse very soon.
It seems all I think about these days are the wonderful little corners of Bangkok where the issues of the world can be forgotten. Give me a beer, 50 jiggling butts to choose from, and all is well again. The music, all the girls on stage, the boobs and butts and curves and smiles--it's all wonderfully hypnotic.

Made the rounds at Cowboy last night after nearly a two month absence. After Tilac, Kiss, and the girls were dressed like Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. WTF? I know it's Soi Cowboy, and the costumes showcase the girls' hot legs and flat tummies, but it's not even football season, and I'm a Packer fan. Tried Spice Girls next, the girls were dressed like Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. Wasn't I just in here? But the stage looks different. Over to Midnight  and the girls were dressed like Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. Now I'm afraid to try Deva Vu, knowing what I'd likely find  Thank goodness at Sharks the girls were in their traditional attire, except the thong panties are no longer see-thru.  Only a dozen customers at 1:30 on a Saturday night, I've never seen Sharks so dead. Does a bar need Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders these days?
