Sounds like a misunderstanding of ST and LT to me. If HS pays ST he should fornicate and get it over and done with - the girl goes off and looks for the next customer.
If HS pays LT and the girl agrees, he goes off with her on whatever he considers fun and she tags allong and at least mildly pretends to enjoy herself.
If he thinks about GREAT sanuk afterwords he goes off with her doing what SHE thinks is fun (which may not be dancing in Q Bar with the hands above your head), she genuinely enjoys herself, is greatful for that and he gets great Sanuk.
After having read Eric e's and Smegma's thread I have come to the conlusion that problem is :

Regardless of the issues with the ladies themselves, my personal feeling is the manager at DH should have returned all three barfines. That's why he's the manager, that's why they have mamasan's -- to sort out these issues. Just bad business sense on his part to not give a shit about his customers. And word gets out on forums like this.
About the "you cost the bar money by b/f'ing and leaving." Total bullshit. That IS the purpose of the barfine, to protect the bar's interests by making up for lost revenues when the girl exits with you. Frankly, if she stayed and continued to get lady drinks or dance, she's working overtime and the bar's making money it wouldn't have made.
I agree with DocLuv, the quality of the experience at the gogo's has gone downhill in even the few years I've frequented them, for the reasons he's suggested. Which means I don't frequent them much anymore, and when I do, my approach is different. Mai sanuk, too much of a production line now. Yeah, it's an inevitable change as the internet, mass media, and cellphones creep into the culture, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it.

wow you guys give good advice. I have a regular who I would like to think is more than a barfine but in the back of my head I know I am just a customer. how do these girls get so good at their "jobs", working girls in usa dont have anything on thai "pros". will be back in may for bkk trip #16.

Some of these BG are smart and realize excellent customer service will bring us back for more. One difference between Thai and USA P4P BG. For many Thais they hope that a decent falong will take them away from the business. Move to LOS and give then love, care and affection. In turn she will take care of you in ways that are hard to imagine.

There is one thing that slightly bothers me about your original post. It is this.
(1) You say that you and the BG are friends. 'I like her, she likes me'.
(2) You then call her actions 'morally despicable'. This is after a. she has rung you ahead of your meeting b. she has what I think was a legitimate excuse (I think you implied she was going with a 'sponsor') and c. she offered to return your bar fine. So at the very least your judgement is 'harsh' here.
But my real objection is that you complained to the manager about the bar girl. In my opinion, that is not the sort of thing you should do to your friends - bar girl or not.
