Baccara in Cowboy is about the most frustrating bar I know of for not being able to see all the girls dancing on the downstairs stage. There are so many of them, and they don't seem to change their chosen dancing spot. It's like a forest of legs.
Agree about TQ in Pattaya; six girls on stage, two on and two off with each song, many offstage and available for a nice long LD before they have to go dance again.
What I've always disliked is the LD "scam" I've fallen for in many bars; when a dancer comes on to you, asking for a LD shortly before it is her turn to go dancing. When I say yes, she gets her drink, we clink glasses, and she says "I go dancing". She will probably come back if and when I stay long enough to buy another beer and wait for her during her dancing shift. More often tho, I'm annoyed enough by this treatment to just check-bin out of there, pay for her drink but no tip for her.

Here's what I like about Alcatraz, on Walking Street (Pattaya). I buy the girl a lady drink (or two or three), and I take the handcuffs off the waitress and handcuff myself to the girl, so that she can't run away!

Are handcuffs what it takes these days to get a girl to stay with you (don't take it personally) for a LD, or 2 or 3? Sure hope that the waitress has the handcuff key in case you want to release yourself and check-bin out of there with paying BF.

Thalien, agree about the annoying moment of buying a girl a drink and having her disappear to go dance. Just ask her when she is next up if you don't know (i.e. having just seen her climb down, e.g. Shark bar). She will tell you.

If I liked gogos...which I don't...I would give all my business to the few that have the very civilized and sensible policy--like DC-10 and Spanky's in Nana--of allowing you to call down any girl currently dancing to sit with you as long as you're feeding her drinks, no matter where she is in the so-called "dancing set". When the amount of girls dancing gets low--as it did the other night when a friend dragged me into DC-10--the mamasan gets up there to fill in. Granted, not always a pretty sight, haha, but at least the bar is making money on lady drinks and the customers are happy.

Live and learn.. After realising that this happens too often to be just coincidental (it *is* in fact a scam) I changed my LD policy and now start with asking them to sit with me first and do some kind of chemistry test. Works perfect to get rid of the LD scammers... They barely have the time and much less the attitude to pass the test...

And Mick, any girl that immediately asks for a drink is probably useless. But there are always exceptions. Some bars seem to push the girls to ask quickly. If I like the girl I might ignore her initial request and see if she passes the chemistry test on a second pass. But depending on my mood I have often dismissed her just as quickly.
