jack and Nic,, sorry for leaving it unfinished.
Sorry it's somewhat off-topic but here is how it went down.
My intial reaction was just to leave, but incase you haven't noticed, at times I can be rather strong willed /obstenent when I feel I'm right.
I stayed and sure enough all three returned after about 1 hour. The farang left and she immediately came over to my table. " you ok honey", no I'm not I'm not happy."Why honey you too horney to wait, we can go now if you want". There is no way I'm going with you now. "Why you angry honey, you think I virgin before and never go with man? ". No I'm not stupid but you go while I sit here even though I already pay bar-fine yesterday and that rude thing to do."OK WE NO GO, UP TO YOU" OK we both agree not to go, you pay me back my bar-fine and everything ok. " You want me pay you back bar-fine?", yes. "I not give, we can go now but you say no, I not give and I not want talk with you".
She mooved tables and started playing pool, I sat scanning the room for a suitable alternative but have to admit she was by far the best looking gal there.
Every 5 minutes or so she would come over and continue the discussion, each time the exchanges would become a little more terse. To say the least negotiations where no going well
On about her 5th visit and things starting to run quickly downhill I simply stated " give me back the bar-fine or I talk with mamasun. She laughed, flicked her hair and said "you do that falang and you sorry".
My ears started glowing red,, not a good sign.On ordering my next drink I asked one of the drink waitresses ( know her quite well ) if mamasun was around. "No she not here, what problem you got ? ".
I explained,"ahh she make this trouble many times before " mamasun say she bring good money to the bar but also bring a lot of trouble,, calm down ( real name ) Mel. "you can take me for free " She really is lovely this drinks gal.
In my infinate wisdom, ROFLMAO, I decided to wait for mamasun,,,I knew her well enough to exchange pleasantries. About 10 minutes later I heard Aussie accents directly behind me and turned to see two "Rebels",,, oh shit,, am iIbeing paranoid or could they be farang security here ???
My brain was racing to think of the name of master at arms of the "Cronulla " chapter of the Rebels were I had spent a fair bit of time at invitation to parties etc,,, ahhhhhh.
Mel, I think its time to leave, my big brain stated to my little brain,, f*** the 600 BHT!!!!
But perfect timing,, mamasun walks in,, within a minute my ever loving drinks waitress has had a quick chat with mamasun and she is at my table,, Of cause the first thing I did was by her a drink "you have problem with ( lets say NOI ), yes I did and explained the situation.
Mamasun being the ever service orietated lady simply said " let me see your drink bill, I think noi should pay that and also return your bar-fine" Zippity do dah zippity day, my oh my what a wonderful day." I will take from her lady drink money", a waive of her hand with drink tabs attached, a side-ways look and a hand signal by her toward Noi and deal was done.
Figuring that I had recieved the best possible outcome I ordered another drink for mamasun, thanked her in my most polite Thai and left with a look ( or seven) over the shoulder to esure I was not being followed.
3 days later I used that drink money and returned bar-fine to S/T noi,,, lol, and she was excellent both in service and attitude.
Lessons learnt, barfines do NOT guarrantee, standing up for what you think is correct can have both potentially bad or good consequences. Drink service gals at morning night are excellent helpers if you befriend them. Mamasun at morning night is honest, knowledgable about the faults in her gals, and most importantly a friendly service orientated manager.
A return visit 6 weeks later and upon asking my drinks waitress friend, were is Noi < she said " mamasun get angry her, too many problems because popular but she stupid because she not organise correct, so make problem for bar.......... "So tonight We go and have dinner Saami noi??????????????, gosh she's lovely.
