Where are these Arab bars? Never been to one. Having lived and worked in several middle eastern countries, don’t think that Ill have any problems whatsoever at these places.
Sorry, I said "The Arab's bars". As in, the bars owned by The Arab (I don't know his real name, that's what everyone seems to call him).
They are, on Soi Cowboy: Our Place (a recent purchase), Spice Girls, Midnite and Deja Vu. In Nana Plaza he also owns the new Spanky's.

Had a strange encounter tonight in one such bar, where I received the very kind offer of a beautiful sacred jerkoff (what a surprise!) from a fair to middling maiden.. but this time with a difference. The conversation kind of went like this;

Now, it’s fair to say that these establishments are generally attended by customers who either specifically want a tug at the bar by a wench (or three) or, at least, like to have the option of such available should the need arise. Aside from that, the attractions are rather limited – especially so when compared to other neighbouring bars – a small bar, a tiny stage, a maximum three dancers of average quality with said dancers always being clothed (skimpily, I know, but we can categorise it such in the context of what’s available elsewhere in many places only a few yards away), a number of other service offerers of variable quality, etc.
I guess someone is no longer paying the brown-boys the requisite comfort-cash. And that is of course understandable. However, in this new context, how could they then reasonably expect the bars in question to continue in any semblance of their former past – in terms of customers, and income, that is – without making some changes.
The very effective (from the investors' viewpoints) business model in these sort of bars is that;
-Dancers get a salary, ostensibly guaranteed, but in actuality not so. If a girl doesn’t make a quota of barfines, her salary is cut. Therefore, the real minimum salary amount guaranteed by the bar is quite small.
They receive commission on drinks bought for them by farangs and also receive whatever is paid by farangs for their tug and other services in the bar itself, upstairs or outside, as well as a small slice of the bar-fine.

-As is the practice in other bars, a very high amount is charged for customer beverages and lady-drinks.
Therefore, the outlays are quite small, and the income should be quite good.
Now, only the dumbest will pay 1,000 baht for a tug job in these bars, or indeed anywhere in BKK, and traffic to these places could fall significantly under the new rules. This will impact most severely on the latter category of worker. Most of these girls are real nice people, with some in dire circumstance financially, and it is for them I feel most sorry.
An option would perhaps be to have some rooms available upstairs for small fee (say 100B) where the usual/former services could continue to be provided. Also, of course, mgt could pay whatever the brown-boys are now asking for and change nothing.
Let’s wait and see. Guess it will be good for the alternative options such as PlaySkool or the Soi 22 j/o joints, as well of course for Lolitas where a more complete service is available not far away.
Anyway, the sadness has overwhelmed me and I must finish now! :-P

There was a crack down a few years ago, and the girls at AfterSkool were in dire need for about 3 months. Naughty boy corners were completely shut down. Hope this is only involving the said bars cuz I have some good friends in AfterSkool. Would hate to see them hurting money wise.

I sit corrected. I've never spoken to the guy, but that's how everyone I've spoken to about his bars refers to him. Wasn't meant as a racial slur or anything of the sort. He loves his bright lights, but could really do with some help in recruiting better looking girls...
Did see an African American once in Deja Vu, that being the only time that I've seen one in Cowboy.
Give that Cowboy's named after an "African American", it does seem odd. Thais are endemnically racist, as I'm sure you're aware. I've seen people of all colours in the bars. The girls in Cowboy, Nana and Patpong seem generally none too fond of Indian, Middle Eastern or any of the darker Asian complexions, for reasons known only to themselves. And they'll think nothing of greeting a black man with "Hello you big dick chocolate man!", which I've observed first-hand.

That would be pretty much every gogo bar in Thailand then, on the under-age front. The staff are all supposed to be at least aged 20. Do let me know if you ever come across a bar where this rule's enforced - I haven't found one yet!
