I think Cyborg and Farva have it right.
People that met madfrog are vouching for him. I don't know him (or anyone on the forum) personally, I don't doubt he had a bad experience. People do get ripped off in this country, and he's reporting his experiences.
However, I think Farva hit it square by suggesting that people can create their own luck and set themselves up for failure. If you are a naturally pushy person, who doesn't bother learning the language, gets angry easily, and takes everything for granted, you are the more likely target of problems in LOS.
I'd like to thank madfrog for reporting his experiences here, especially since it is to be expected that he may catch heat for them. But that doesn't mean he didn't play a part in creating the events that occurred.

You got scammed. Its good to be informed about it. It can happen.
But there is a conglomeration of facts that should make one go on alert:
- you are in Thailand
- you are in P4P
- you are in a Ladyboy Bar
- you are dealing with LB which are well known for notorious scamming
- you do not speak the language
- and finally you do not understand what they ask you but say (overhasty) yes
Applying commmonsens does not allow (nowhere in the world!) to affirm a question you do not understand... especially not in this environment and under these circumstances.
As said earlier... don't say yes to anything unless you're absolutely sure what you are agreeing.
Otherwise you are acting grossly negligent... in my opinion.
