you are right there is only one table in christies, and every time I have been in there the table was busy. even though I like to shoot pool, that is not the main reason I go there. It is a laid back place where you can relax, and enjoy the company of the ladies.

i usually hang out at monet (further down the soi) whenever my time permits. take my girl upstairs and play pool (2 tables) and have to insert 4 x 10 Baht coins per game. ralaxing place as well with lots of pretty women - no haggling on ladies drink and some of those girls can really play pool. i'll try christies next time.

When I visited Monet the upstairs didn't seem to be open. I didn't know you could take the girls up there to play pool. Can you just select any of the girls, buy them a drink and whisk them upstairs?

yes chompoo, actually i have a regular girl there and when i come i immediately ask her to come with me upstairs to play pool. all girls are most willing to play pool with you and all those hugging and kissing could be done as well while playing, ha, ha, ha. meanwhile, many girls are behind the counter once you enter the premises and will start to chat with you right after you take a seat. some will ask for drink but will remain at the counter even if you buy them one. in my case i promptly ask them to come and nicely ask to massage my back once they have their drinks (talk about making my money's worth, he, he)...for which they will gladly oblige.

For general info:
Big Shots on Soi 33 (turn right in short sub-soi past Renoir, I think Santana is on the corner itself) - upstairs 2 pretty good tables. ÝNot even mentioned in the Nanapong report - perhaps they were working to strict definition of door opening onto soi 33 itself, rather than 15 feet away?). I used to go there v. frequently and play with two very good looking, very excellent pool playing girls (Jay and Sorn). Ýthe girls here can CERTAINLY be taken out, but it'll cost 1300 in bf. ÝJ & S had left last time I popped in and the tables were being used by interplaying customers, so don't know current (pool playing) standards of the resident girls, but there used to be 5-6 good players (25% of girls approx.) 40-50% of the girls in there very reasonable looking. ÝWorth a look in at least once. No hassling on the drinks, either yours or for them - all optional and easy paced.
There is a brand new one opened on the corner of Soi 4. Ý3 good-ish (new) tables. ÝPacked, but reasonable queues for tables (4,5,6 names). ÝNo idea yet about girls, but no hassle on drinks at normal prices (for Soi 4).
The big place on the left nearly as far as the Brunswick is called the Swan. ÝThe tables here are good and once you and your (friends/tgf/member of staff who has volunteered to punish you) are on the table its yours until you leave - that's about right on the number of tables (12-14) and I think there are 4 full-size snooker tables. ÝDrinks normal prices. ÝA few freelancers hang out the front, but I've never tested and not seen them play pool. ÝThe previous farang manager, Rick (wickedly good pool player, now on Thonglor, I think), was replaced 6mths ago by a Thai floor manager and I've only been back once since, but it seemed not unduly changed, perhaps quieter.
Opposite the now (nearly, except for Doll House behind the ABSOLUTELY NO F'ING WAY IN HERE sign blocking the entrance, installed by the, er, authorities) defunct Clinton Plaza between Sois 8 & 10 are a whole cluster of new pool bars. ÝAll the tables are good because they're all new (that'll change). ÝStandards of girl-play and girl-poolplay vary from bar to bar, with drinks at regular prices 85baht - ish for a beer.
After Work which can be accessed directly from Sukhumvit have a couple of very good pool players (got beaten twice last night, before the beer kicked in) who also are Ýfair to go, and 4 more at least very good lookers (frankly, very f_ckable indeed, I may have to revisit v.soon) whose pool skills are to be evaluated. ÝAll seem friendly. Bar fines here and other bars nearby 400Baht.
Sweet Home Bar next door, and there for 18mths at least before the rest of them is where you will get your ass kicked for sure if you mess about (pool-wise, I mean) 4 tables, a couple of Thai guys around, but usually they will only play at your invitation and if you know them. ÝThe owner, guy with long pony-tail, is very seriously good. The Manager, Dear (Te-ah), used to be the manager at Christie's on Soi 33 before the big refurbishment. She can play, too, as can a good number of the, on the whole good-looking, troupe of tgs.
Again, it is worth taking an evening/half an evening just moving from bar to bar at least once; New bars are still being added and there is a cathouse at the back (I'm told).

If you like guitar-oriented and live music (creedence etc.) you could do worse than Country Road right at the end of Soi 19. Four tables downstairs (2 v.good, 2 aging a little but ok), and two brand new ones on the overlooking balcony upstairs.
Pool standards are high with a mix of regular local (older, quieter) Thais and plenty of resident farangs, some tourists. ÝThe girls can also kick ass, so don't give them any chances if you intend to win. ÝBar fines 400B. ÝGirls are friendly. Usually the pool girls, monitoring and racking the tables can't go until the end, or toward the end of the night, but there are a large number of CRO's (ha ha) milling about of which 6 or 8 are very respectable, but the standard does go right down to the, er, other end of the scale as far as the whole group (20-odd non-pool?).
There used to be one girl playing on the far table as you walk in who could REALLY play. ÝSure she whacked them, but had an aim like William Tell, and a game plan (rare). ÝI think I saw her in Asoke Plaza now at B-52.
The Country Road on Soi Cowboy (Asoke End) has now been expanded and has 4 brand new Soveriegn tables (20b a game and regular drinks prices ie 90b a beer). ÝAgain the girls can be taken out, but not seen them play - I'll try and update this myself, but I've only seen 2/3 "lookers" there)
Final word (sorry to go on and on). Asoke Plaza; Many pool bars, girls chop and change so hard to keep up, but the open style of the place means its easy to look around and change bar if you spot something more interesting in a neighbouring bar. ÝBf's usually 400B, lady drinks a duty but not overly-laboured or expensive. B-52 seems to have the best players (mix long stayers, couple fresh, range from very sweet to utterly slutty), and the guy there (Howie, a pilot in his spare time) seems concerned to make sure the tables are kept to a high standard (also the music here is kept well up to date if you like dance/dj mixes/house as well as a good selection of requestable oldies), OB1 next door a couple of good players but shit table (bucket pockets). ÝThese girls (about 4 with middling-and-up looks) WILL GO (they live for it, and r keen!) - usual 400b bf. ÝThe little one, Onn, looks slightly tubby, but she jumps like a bunny (I'm told, ahem).
You can play for whatever you wish for around here - I normally do a 3wins4megetsbj or 5wins4me&urmyslave4thenite type deal with 100b a game lost to the girl & drinks for her paid. ÝIf you win and are stingy about losing games (I know, principles), further tipping later MUST be done (they've got to eat, pay rent etc). ÝI still have a couple of Bj's in hand, aiw, stayed in case of emergencies.
Round the corner Lolita's probably has the best tables of the lot, but only 2/3 girls of middling to low presentation and unquantified playing standards. ÝI usually go with a long standing old mate for our irregular competitions (25-35 games, loser pays all inc. beers). ÝIf too dejected afterward, you can always stroll accross the yard afterward to the BJ bar and have one of the ladies (who have been avidly watching through the glass frontage your shot-form up to that point), take the heat out. ÝI think this bar is for sale - I saw a sign there a couple of weeks ago.
There are a number of other pool bars in here now, again, standards in both areas need further research). NOTE - BARS IN ASOKE PLAZA CLOSE 01h00. This is enthusiastically and ill-temperedly (at least for the owners & staff of the bars), enforced by the police. This (attitude) doesn't really affect punters other than the current pool game will be stopped, regardless of whether you are lining up the black or not).
Webmaster - is this waaaay too long? ÝI'm new to the forum (I mean the whole thing), but have dedicated my life to the Bangkok pool bar scene so thought it might be worth sharing a smidge of that? Let me know.

Yes, that was in fact way too long. There was too much valuable information in there for me to fully digest. I believe that is the most comprehensive list of tables and girls that I've seen and I nominate you to update and elaborate on the Pool Bar list!

In all seriousness, I fought and fought to keep that pared down, and tried to avoid covering anything already commented in the thread or its posted link(s).
I had a look at the pool list when I first joined a couple or few days ago, and made a mental note to offer at some point (never do today what you can put off 'til tomorrow) some input.
When the job is ready to be done, let me know - believe me, any assistance I can provide will be a pleasure (for me, and hopefully at least useful at a basic, flavour providing level for others).
Thinking more on (not easy at this time of morning, and closer to how it sounds when spoken aloud), shall I just write up the rest of it anyway, over the next few days and e-mail to you (or is there another more specifically responsible for this info?)?
