Another way to get around the Thai ownership provisions is to have the 51% Thai shareholders hand over their share certificates on deposit to you together with a power of attorney covering the voting rights.
I'm not from the US, but doesnt the Treaty of Amnity give US investors the same rights as Thai nationals for business purposes? This treaty is going to be revoked shortly but I understand that it will not affect any business that were started while the treaty was in effect. Also the Thai govt is negotiating with the Australian government for a similar type of arrangement which they are aiming to enact later this year.
On another note, I always thought that a good way to attract and keep girls would be to allocate a small percentage of profits to pay to staff as a profit share based on performance and length of service.

That is a good and noble thought. But I fear it's unworkable. A profit share or other 'high concept' compensation is still relatively rare in most Western employment where social and labor theory have more of a head start. My worry is that most of the employees would lose the plot.
What does work anywhere anytime is on the spot cash bonuses. Case in point- when I was working in the banquest department of a big hotel we had a top manager we really liked. He booked a very prestigious (nearly career-making) function and we all busted butt to make sure everything went right for him. Unexpectedly, afterwards, he kicked all the waiters and bartenders $100 cash and all the bussers and ushers $50 out of his own pocket. Damned skippy that our next ten functions went better than the ten previous to that. Nothing motivates as well as respect and cold cash.
Any planned incentive program should have a clear goal, a clear payoff, and foster the right balance between cooperation and competition between employees which benefits the customer.
A length of service program is kind of interesting. I had a wild notion for a bar where every girl was fired automatically on her 23'd birthday, with the golden parachute being something like 50 baht for every barfine she'd ever pulled. That notion is not seriously proposed for this venture.

do the math.
the keymoney is 7'000'000.00 baht
renovation 3'000'000.00 baht (if u want "special")
1 year rent 720'000.00 baht
deposit power 180'000.00 baht
supplier deposits 100'000.00 baht
that' a cold 11'000'000.00 baht right there.
add another 2'000'000.00 baht as running capital
that is a lot of money for that little joint.
anyway the owner claimed, that he would put 150'000 to 200'000 baht per month in his pocket (average).
for a average investment of 10'000 baht you would get the handsome return on investment of 115.00 baht to 150.00 baht per months.
not counting interest and payback....
and I sort of had a hard time believing the guy, that he pockets that amount of cash per months.
if you just want to have a bar, I would have a much cheaper solution for 70'000 baht per months plus salaries and utilities.
it is actually v e r y near from rosemary and was just renovated.

Not sure which angle your comment was about, but as far as I am concerned, that is a f_cked comment from you.
If you don't want thais dancing in there, who do you want, fat white chicks??? you will be the only customer, you and those other few white knight saving loving heros on here. Otherwise the thais in there will be 'out' of their clothes most of the time, unless of course you want them clothed and then again you will be the only one in there.
