I like it. I like Morum. It is very happy dancing music. Especially at a temple fair, for instance, or in the local karaoke. I like it anywhere that chicks get into it, really... I would rather hear it in almost any bar rather than the sticky shit of most Western pop music--the fact that I understand the lyrics perfectly makes it even worse. But in Morum or Isan music there is some dialectical ambiguity still, but that's not the only attraction. I like the dancing and the dancers.
There are many different styles, such as the Poo Thai from northern Isaan, or the stuff they do in Buriram. I like the "can" and the "saw-oo", as instruments. There are some interesting tunes as well that originate in the folk music of Northern Thailand proper that are very pleasant to me.
Most of this, even the slower pieces with the hypnotic bass, is dancing music. Or drinking music. Like a lot of country music. But I like American country music, too--though not everything.
In particular, about Thai music, I like older stuff, such as Chai Meuang Singh. What an amazing voice.
I don't mind listening to any of this country Thailand music outside. I can relax and go with the flow. Though I rarely ever listen to any of it in my condo, unless it happens to come on TV, since this is my eagle's nest and I enjoy peace and quiet up here.

Yes, I have to agree. It's good to see them happy, after all. To me, it is only quaintly discomfiting that the girls do not enjoy the music I myself allow in my eagle's nest and do not know how to dance provocatively to (Strauss Waltzes), so I just get along with it until someone opens a bar fitting my fantasies more exactly.

I had the good fortune of spending several evenings at Dollhouse over the past few weeks. In my humble opinion, they have one the best collection of girls in all of Nana or Cowboy. I would get there early and enjoy the 50Baht draught beer special until 8:30. Plus, being early, it's not cramped with sour-looking Japanese men, and the girls are a bit fresher looking.
No exaggeration, one girl in particular looks like Victoria Beckham. Exact same short, angled hairstyle. Same face and smile. Same hot, toned, athletic body with fantastic curves.
