I think u cud well be spot on in ur call that a lot of people are going in early and booking and, from my experience, not necessarily getting the option to take them away there and then.
The reason I say this is that I was in there a few weeks ago with a GF and we were looking for a 3rd, conditional upon the fact that she was genuinely bisexual, as opposed to being prepared to do the deed.
Anyway, we watched the show and then, nearing the end sought advice on said subject. We were told that of the 7 (or so, memory fades - but all showgirls) we enquired about, 1 was a lesbian, 2 bisexual, the rest straight. But here's the rub - ALL had been BF'd previously anyway.
And b4 any wise ass jumps in, no we don't have two heads each and do bathe from time to time !!
So it does seem that the reputation/popularity of AW has reached such proportions that on any given night if u want the cream - then get in early. As previously mentioned, I dread to think what that is doing for attitudes/performance of the "top girls", irrespective of prices demanded.
Reading the prior posts in this thread, I realise ever more so that I was almost certainly lucky in having our plans dashed at that stage, only to find not one but two absolute stars a bit later in the evening - but that's another story...............

I suspect there's a natural cycle at work here.
A bar becomes popular, the crowds start piling in (as do the more opportunistic & mercenary BG types), and before long too many of the girls start getting snooty. Eventually, customers start having bad experiences and decide that the place isn't nearly as good as it's cracked up to be. The bar then goes into decline...
Looks like Long Gun may have entered its down phase already. Judging by these comments, AW might be about to do the same. A few months back, no-one had a bad word to say about the place.
Personally, I dislike very popular bars. They're too crowded, and the attitude of the girls is often hopeless. I think it's a bit of a pity that newbies are inevitably attracted to these places for the visual spectacle and then saddle themselves with a very misleading impression of the GG bars (if not BGs) in general.
Altho much thinner on the ground, there are stunners in most GGs. If you're looking for the GFE, I think the ones who work in the less popular places are much better prospects. Since most of the girls in the bar have to work hard to make a living, the prevailing ethos is a lot more consumer-friendly - and the lookers usually feel secure in their bar status. Also they may just be nicer people than the little madams who congregate elsewhere. Ask them why they still work there, and they answer that they want to be with their friends, or like the mamasan, or something like that. They do well enough as it is - and a congenial working environment matters more to them than chasing a few extra bucks.
Anyway, it's fascinating how the 'personality' of the various bars is in constant flux. Never hurts to look in at a place you disliked a few months back - you may be very pleasantly surprised. By the same token, a good place may have gone completely to pot. Some of the best BGs I've had have been from venues I'd previously written off. Who knows - if these trends continue, I might even give LG and AW another whirl.

i am going to AW for about two years now and still pop in as i do have many friends there! but if you are not a regular and well known the girls for sure are getting snooty there!
in general i do have my best party and most fun in the second grade bars (not so popular but still not shabby!) or bars which just have reemerged from being awful such as rainbow 3, cowboy 2 and others! the attitide of the girls is more sanook driven as they do not get as much trade and Ýthey will try harder as arcadius said!
but for the eye pleasure for sure the likes of king 1 + 2, camelot, rainbow 2 and AW but also long gun are still a must especially if you are new to the bkk scene. just do not expect a gf treatment in those establishments!

On my last rip in April I had the best time ever in Rainbow 3... Dont know if any other bros' where there at the time.
Went there because a girl who used to be FL now works there. I met her in the street (previously met and taken her in Jan where she was FL'ing in Beir Garden Soi 7) and she IMHO is gorgeous so I actually gave her the money for her BF then and there (500bht) and said If I do not get to R3 by 10.00 pm then keep the BF and go with someone else.
Got to R3 dead on 10 she was waiting for me. Normally would not have gone in R3.
Anyway it transpired that it was the Papasans birthday and all the girls were being given unlimited Tequila. I was in a good mood so I BF'd the friend of the girl I was with also. Just to have a good time (Mind her mate suggested a threesome but the girl I had gone to see was not up for this).
I spotted the Papasan and said to him Oh your birtday today and he said yes so I said you have drink for me for birthday. I bought him one Henikin and a Whisky. and next thing I know I have a bottle of Jhonny Walker Black Label and Tequila on the table compliments of Papasan. Needless to say I ended up with Loads of girls around me helping drink the Whisky and Tequila I got pissed and ended up dancing on the stage naked. This was not my intention but what can you do when you have two dozen pairs of hands all over you.
R3 is deffo on my list in 7 Days time. I do like the girl mind..

Yes, Lofty delivers perfectly the true essence on how to have a good time in Thailand. It's all about fun. I see so many guys worrying so much about getting screwed (in a money sense) that they come into bars with their game face on like they are going to negotiate a world trade agreement or something!!! When you find the right environment (good bar) and party girls, yes you too can be on stage naked 
Like Griffen says, it good to go to AW and LG for the shows, the first time they are enjoyable. But for the real fun, hit the less popular bars.
Yes I also agree with Arcadius about their being a natural cycle here and some of the popular bars a few years ago now are begging for customers. For you serious types, it's like contrary investing, Buy low and Sell high. Now take off your tie and have some fun

I think 'Thaidup' that people have the impression that we come to LOS for the cheap sex (I am talking about us reg visitors as opposed to the expats)
But if I worked out flights, hotels, food, drinks etc I reckon that per shag the price would be higher than what I would pay in the UK even at the UK price/hr.
Don't get me wrong I have paid for sex in the UK and believe me it is a lot better service that you get in LOS.
But the aim for me is to have a good time (this does include shagging myself half to death). So I try not to skimp, I am generous to an extent, (doesn't mean I don't keep an eye on what I spend) I try to give the girls a good time which in turn gives me a good time.
The thing is don't try to skimp to much nobody wants to be ripped off and I have told a girl in the past not to buy drinks for her friends without asking me first but only because it was getting out of hand. My normal rule is if I have barfined the lady she can get a drink as when she wants if friends want a drink she asks me.
I think you know within a short time of entering a bar if this is going to be a party place or not I just move on until I find the right place (as said R£ is not a usual bar for me). Other times when I don't want to party I go to a usual bar and just chill out.

There is one girl at Angel Witch who I personally think is extremely hot. Ý Unbelievable body. Ý She is in the show so I couldn't take her until around 11:30pm. I have been to AW a couple of times the last a few months back and there were some lookers there but i was basically ingored so didn't bother.
I have always enjoyed better GFE in less popular bars although of course it is possible to get the GFE in the hot bars just a lot less likely.
My motto is to go where you are treated well and the girls are keen.
You cannot beat keeness.

I'm surprised they ignored you there. I thought they were the most agressive girls I've seen in a while. I think almost every one of them was in my lap at least once the first time I went. Maybe you went on a really busy night. The first time I went it was pretty slow. The other night when I actually did end up taking that girl for a short time, it was very crowded. But I only had eyes for her anyway so I'm not sure if the other girls would have ignored me or not.
I agree that you can get a better GFE in most of the smaller less popular bars most of the time. Although I always seem to end up with the girls from the big go-go's. sucker that I am.

Maybe I was just lucky, but I Barfined a girl from AW last night while hanging out with the Thin White Duke, and she gave me the best GFE I've gotten in quite a while.
