just wondering if any of you have a regular route/destinations or suggestions for a good bar crawl,
starting early afternoon (2ish).....don't really fancy patpong or nana and i only like a couple of bars in cowboy.
Maybe a couple of places with decent pool tables, half decent food, a few nice girls and not too expensive.
I realise it is a bit of a broad question but any replies are apreciated

I would highly recommend the Woodstock bar @NEP for starters. Cool with nice pool tables. No TBG's, though staff is happy and cheerful, food is decent.
On down Soi 4 is Bamboo Bar, another favorite of mine, where freelancers get laid back in the afternoon, the pool tables are nice, and the beer is cold.
On Soi 7 is Beergarten- Freelancer heaven. No pool tables but who cares. The babes are hot and the beer is cold. I have not been to Gullivers, but the other brothers I'm sure will comment. Happy hunting. Remember to smile!

Between NEP and Bamboo Bar (which is on soi 3 not 4)...you have the Buffalo Bar pool tables upstairs...had a few post shopping chill outs there....soi 7 New Wave Bar for pool....definately goota visit Gullivers in soi 5 for pool and beer and free BKKtonite log ons.....and there's another pool bar on Sukhumvit, glass bar tops and steel floors, though the name escapes me.

I quite liked the Living Room along Sukhumvit, between Sois 9 and 11, I think.
Only two pool tables but it had a nice atmosphere. One of the girls in there was an absolute stunner.

I always start in Gullivers early afternoon for some breakfast (which is where I am right now). Great place to relax with a coffee and/or beer or 2 - free newspapers & free internet.
Then over to Morning & Night bar on soi 4 (next to Nana Plaza but not actually inside), for a few games of pool. Girls there are very friendly, some stunners, good music.
Sometimes I like to go to soi 33 from about 6pm. Great looking girls in most bars there - I love the dresses they wear - very classy. Can have a relaxing few beers & decent conversation with the girls on this soi. Would never stay here after 9pm (end of happy hour for most bars on soi 33). Yes, I'm a cheap charlie.
Then maybe back to soi 7 - beergarden. Like TWD says, freelancer heaven. Also they do very good food here.
The over to Bamboo bar, soi 3. Check out Noy, a freelancer who hangs out here, who is completely deaf & mute. She is one of the most stunning Thai girls I have seen. Also, try playing pool with Neng, a cool Thai guy who hangs out here every night - he can beat everyone at pool playing with just one hand.

I usually stay at Manhattan hotel on Suk soi 15.
I often stop for a cool one at Living room, BG's now more plentyful and getting better quality.
Next door but one is bar called Meeting Place. A nice raised bar to watch the Suk parade. I was in there 2 weeks ago and waitress told me that it will close in 2 months time. it sounds like the bars in that area will go the way of Clinton Plaza to make way for the work on the hotel behind ( I think) Any news from anybody??
