I noticed a series of bars under the freeway overpass, identified as Soi Zero, not far from NEP. Are these bars worth a look? İAnyone have any experience at these bars?

I have walked past there a few times but have never stopped for a look. Kind of reminds me of the transients back home that live under freeway underpasses.

Det 5 is one of the better places (2nd on right). fond memories of Det 5 as they follow the Cobra Gold guys no matter what city they are in. Bring a taste of BKK to places like Phitsanulok and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Good music, pool and an occasional babe.

Some of the bars in soi zero are very good. Some nice girls there, good music, pool tables.

soi0 is a nice change of pace & low prices IMO. friendly & even cute girls even I've never taken any, but merely used the place as a great place to start a night with some pool & drinks before moving on...

I walked thru there in the afternoon and the bars reminded me of a row of garages.....I think that it used to be Jack Tar Village before the freeway was built directly above. There are so many other more enjoyable places in BKK, I don't see any reason to hang out there.

Interesting history lesson, Jay....I see that I needed it.
I was told about Buckskin Joe Village when I was in BKK, but my addled mind came up with "Jack Tar Village" which is an all-inclusive resort somewhere in the Caribbean that I have never even been to.......55555.
I guess everyone has their own idea of "paradise".....a sleazy place under the freeway WITH TGs is preferable to a tropical island for my money.
