So I wander around NEP or Soi Cowboy. Into this bar, straight out of that bar. Now this bar is narrow, about six girls shuffling about by poles and average music, couple of girls sitting on the chairs and a couple of glassy eyed farang. Don't remember the name of the bar so try the next. Much the same. Third time lucky . OK music and some tasty women. One of the first two bars I hear is up for sale. I think what is the attraction of that bar ?? Small ,hefty looking, been at it a while girls and average music. No wonder its up for sale.
What makes a bar successful? Obviously not the first two as I can't really see what the attraction would be?
Eclectic music?
Eccentric customers?
A spooks and journalist hangout ?
Very sexy women?
Very cheap booze?
decent imported beer ?
A mamsan who's a bit of a laugh ?
The Cathouse is full during Happy Hour then it thins out.
So cheap booze is one answer.
I stagger into Angelwitch. I say what - nice girls in interesting costumes and not a bad show !
There's another answer, but with a small bar that type of thing is limited.
So why would anyone want to buy one of the small bars?
Substances under the counter ?
Money laundering?
Money to burn?
Get drunk screw the ladies and end up poor?
A CIA cover operation ?
As they say frequently ,
Q:"How do you make a small fortune in Thailand?"
A:"Start with a large one!"
I'm intrigued !

smiling is believe it or not , a key secret, if the girls are average to good , use good music (not too loud) quick changes ....and flirtation that appears real if not, but smiling!....look bored? the customer feels it!.....look excited and happy the air tension heightens......trick is i am told doing all the above when alot of these girls are clearly in for a slow night!

That's a tough question to answer and if we had the answer we could give up our day jobs and become rich advising bar owners. You have to have a good manager/owner who is on the scene every night making sure the customer comes first and the second thing he must do is make sure the customer comes first. No BS with the checks and the BG have to know if the customer complains about her, that she will hear about it.
If you want to check out a well run bar go to Pattaya, two bars come to mind, FLB, Walking Street and G-Spot, soi 4 and second rd.

I was gonna try and tell that to the manager of Wetherspoons in Twickenham last night but why waste my time ....this is England !!!! Duh !

Across the road is a Wetherspoons LLoyd's No.1 which used to be the old Twickenham General Post Office.
Much better in there !
Occasionally I have seen Tim Martin in the Hounslow one . Big hippy bloke in expensive clothes.

It's like the Macdonalds of pubs.
I understand that the local DHSS is opening a small counter in the Twickenham Wetherspoons so the customers can pick up their dole money and go straight to the bar for a bevvy for the next six hours !!
Nokna surely they all aren't that bad unless you like paying £2.80 a pint in the Cabbage Patch next door?

i know your part of the UK is more expensive than mine,but i pay £1.45 for a pint of Tetleys creamflow.
very nice price.
but i know the prices i will have to pay when i visit London,terrible.
