Had a look at Gullivers last night, just down soi 5 past foodland, on the opposite side, I guess it will either become as big a white elephant as clinton Plaza, or else one of THE places in Bangkok ... my monies on the later ! [ A safe bet, judging by the owners previous success at RCA/Route66] - Upmarket from Soi 7 Beer garden, Thermae,Grace, - and yet drinks/meals reasonably priced, half what you would pay in Rivas/Q Bar, - it is ideally situated in the middle of all these haunts, and I think is going to pull freelancers from all of them, and of course where you have the TG's ... the guys will follow, also it is well designed, bars/restaurant area/pool tables side by side, but not totally overlapping, plenty of TVs showing all relevant sports, open all sorts of hours, you can get the 120 bt breakfast to clear the hangover, or a 170 bt steak and kidney pie late at night, I was drinking Jack daniels at 95 bt a glass, friendly efficent service, and none of the dreaded ++ - A definate thumbs up, and I have to agree with BK, this will become my new local.

Been going to this place for the last few days and found it quite interesting. BK did alert me on this hangout and certainly he was right. This may become THE place later on. During my first visit (around a week ago) there were not many freelancers around. I left around 01:00....However, yesterday went there again to say good bye to Chrisboy and realised that many freelancers from Bamboo Bar, Beer Garden and other small joints were there. Even the popular Yue (Nana Disco) was there. She has never failed to get a ST before hitting Angels Disco.
Agree with TPE. This place is sucking all the freelancers from their major former hangouts and soon will rock on with the fella's looking for an ST....nowadays the life of the place is located in the far end side, where the 6 pool tables are. The place is alive till 02:00 and it's nice to see the flow of girls coming and going.....interesting.
Food and beverages are at reasonable prices. A beer B/.75 and the meals as TPE described. Potential place to be considered as the venue for the next RT.

I am impressed, the place is huge and nice. just went by. but does not seem to busy at lunchtime as the likes of biergarten and new wave. maybe at a later stage. I am going to check it out for happy hour later this evening. after all it is just 3 minutes from my office.

I think the JediMaster likes more the Gulliver PUB than Bamboo, at least nowadays. IMHO Bamboo could become and old good memory within few months....
I agree with him, the air-con is far better than the one at Bamboo and also the opportunities to play pool are faster cos of the 6 pool tables and the implemented system which avoids duplication when writing the 'player" names on the whiteboard. This policy is enforced by the staff and makes the pool tables rocking all the time....

With the temperature rising I will be hanging out in GT in the day time for sure! Air-conditioning is definitely much better! I don't even want to think of Beer Garden, and hopefully eventually, the girls will get wind of this and get over there.

Went in there last night from around 5 to 8ish and it does seem nice. pool only 20B which is good but very few girls around at the time. Had to go to Beirgarden to find a squeeze and come back. Much more choice there still.
Will be interesting to see if they manage to keep the level of service going when it gets busy so you dont get kept waiting for a filler for too long.
Only concern I have is the toilets, there seems only to be one and they are far too small if the place takes off. Only 5 urinals and two cubicals in the gents. Lord knows what the ladies queue could be like.
