Went there tonight as I was showing around a friend that is visiting and all new people want to go to the whole Patpong.
1 beer, 1 rum and coke not happy hour on the main area 130bt in 2 places. If it was not for the pushy gits out side the bars and the hard sell market traders and the only ST girls in the gogo I am begging to like it there.

I thought drinks always were cheaper at the pong, typically 90 instead of the usual 110. I don't tend to go there anymore because:
1. Too many touts
2. Too many rip-offs
3. Too many katoeys

I agree it is a pit, but I never thought it was as cheep as it was tonight. I think I could stand a few load mouths for the night if about 10 of us go out because that's a masive saving on a round of drinks.

Rum and coke is my personal favorite, paid no more than 120 Baht and Carlsburgs for 90 on my last visit. However, I think the ice in the rum messed my stomach up... If I understand you correctly, both for a 130 Baht would be nice!

Hey, Patpong is fine by me. There are a lot of regular guys that have made this their number one prowl for many years. Yes it is a little hard on newbies to the area. You gotta know where to go and have the street smarts.

Went to the pong last tuesday with a buddy of mine, as we were a little hammered I can not remember which bar we went into but they obviously thought we were drunker than we looked as after buying 2 beers and 5 LD's (cokes), I was presented with a bill for 3,000 Bt, yes thats right, 3,000. After I stopped laughing, the mamasun returned with a 2,000 bill. More laughing and she came back with a request for 1,500. I asked for a pen and paper as I thought a quick maths lesson was called for and the final bill was 510Bt, this I gladly paid and left after leaving a more than generous 1 Bt tip. I'll stick with where I know in future.

But in my NEWBEE time I had good experience there..
So after a big disappointment I took a tuk-tuk to Patpong anway, to find "old" friends at TIGHs Bar ot whatever it may be called next to the Kings, Camelot and Queens Castle places, just a bit further up the soi. BEWARE: There is so sweet, let down looking WAN. she will be happy to join you. just to tell you in the Hotel-room, there will be no sex, Then there will be Rung, not able to speak properly, but gourgeous looks, you take her, you f_ck her for a night allright - then she will pester you no end to send her the same amount of money every months - just like that,
Then there is Mieaw, half-sister of Wan, really good, but evil.

i used to go to the pong for a change from cowboy and nep.
to many tourists shopping, to many western girls, too much hassles, too many touts. 
it has never and never will be my favourite hunting ground.
