Mr Alan
Nancy Chandler's Map of Bangkok lists some jazz in the Live Music section. I cannot vouch for any of these myself:

Bambo Bar, Oriental Hotel
Brown Sugar (Sarasin)
Diplomat Bar, Conrad Hotel
Living Room, Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel
Reflections, Hotel Plaza Athenee
Sundowner's Jazz Club, Imperial Queens's Park Hotel

The Bamboo bar in the Oriental did have the excellent Mr Marat the saxophone player. I would imagine there is a piano as well.

I don't know about the other places?

Here is a web site that may be of interest:

"Bangkok Gig guide provides a comprehensive listing of live music and other gigs. The advance search allows selection by jazz, pop folk, blues, latin, reggae, easy listening etc.."

I love the bamboo bar at the Oriental.
The quartet (piano, saxophone, drums, double bass)  there is awesome. they play jazz standards I'm sure most jazz lovers are familiar with. very relaxing, yet very classy. I was there last wednesday. the singer is very sexy by the way Very expensive though.

The other jazz bar i like is the Saxophone by the Victory Monument. Last time i was there, they were playing dixie land stuff with a small horn section. but it might not be the place if you want to slow down and relax in.

Brown sugar is very much like  saxophone but smaller. I used to love the place but i havent been there for a long time. my friend told me that the last time he was there they were plaing "I will survive". so that sucks.

never been to other places listed on bangkokgigguide.
but i bet my house mortgage that bamboo bar wont let you down.

Brown Sugar is still worth a look.  Went there three times this month.  Early feature was solo Brazilian guitarist doing lots of Gilberto, house band played later.

Avoid Mondays, no band.

yeah,

brown sugar is also my favourite spot. but the last time i was there was in 1995 and have never visited since then. they used to have a very good band and 'i will survive' free music .....

the food and music was great.
