As I'll be getting to my hotel at about 1.30 am i'll be heading straight for the Beergarden 7. What time does it close? after that Thermae, what time does that close? Although I guess i'll have my first LT sorted out by then.
On another subject what is Lipo? Is it like Red Bull? does it give you wings!!!

Beer garden usually empties out around midnight, with the girls heading to Nana disco if the have the price of a drink on them, or to Thermae if not ! ... you will get a few stargglers there until 1am, but they are not worth the time by and large - as to thermae, sad to say its still 2am sharp, but on the plus side, the footpath between Nana - Thermae is thick with TGs desperate for your " nung phan" [ 1000 baht] between 2-3pm. Those that aren't having a feed near soi's 5 or 15, have either gone home or gone to the Grace - My tip, if your not in Sukhumvit till 1:30pm, go straight to Thermae, and from there wander slowly up to thew Grace on soi 3, - you wont lack for offers !!

As far as I am aware everything close at 2am, including the Thermae.
You may want to try the coffee shop in the Grace Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 3, (but it is a bit grim) which I have been informed is open later than 2am.
With regard to your question about lipo, it is red bull. Some german guy copied the idea/recipe and established red bull. The rest, as they say is history.

sorry the guy who copied kartzing daeng into the world market was an austrian guy, actually somebody i know! nevertheless grace hotel coffee shop and siam hotel are open 24 hours, but do get sort of sorted out by 4-7 o'clock'ish depending on the day. but hardly any quality girls around there,so if you going for a booze that's splendid, but picking up quality girls is getting kind of more difficult after 2 am!

Yes at one time a policeman did have an ownership interest in Thermae, which was why it never closed for Holidays and stayed open till dawn. He sold it a few months ago which is why they now close about 2am and were closed last night on the Queen's Birthday.

Hopefully the b.s. 'social order' campaign will lose steam after Purachai the MT1 gets reshuffled along with the rest of the cabinet in October. The government (other than Purachai) isn't completely brain dead, they do understand that what's bad for tourism is bad for muang Thai, and they do know that rather few tourists actually come here to go looking for dwarf deer in the national parks. (Unless you want to eat them.)
