I am sick of the crap beer sold in Thailand. It is either too strong in alcohol or too strong in taste.
I have been getting erratic and irritable after a gallon of Singha, Heineken or Mittweida. I know that 2 large Beer Chang would have me spewing and avoid teh beastly stuff.
But Beer Lao is one of the really nice beers of Asia and a gallon or two a day helps me work, rest and play. (Well. maybe not work)
It is all imported ingredients apart from rice and water but is brewed to a lighter taste and only 5% alcohol.
Unfortunately not, but I was in Laos last month where a large bottle (660ml?) of this beer served in an expat run bar will knock you back the princely sum of...35Bt.
I agree that this stuff is nice. Apparently, way back in time the original brewmaster at the Laos Brewery in Vientiane was a German who had a special recipe. This may just be folklore but it sure tastes good!
