I noted on my last trip that a new bar is opening between the Sheraton Grande and Asoke..
Looks pretty upscale, but was not open yet.. but looked ready to go..
anyone know if it is open and what type of bar it will be.. i.e. just a boozers pub or a up scale hostess bar??
over on the other side of Sukhumvit, between Asoke and soi 23, there is a new bar called the bitchy bar.. and does it look like a loser.. mostly a massage place, but the only women I have seen were old and fat... maybe someone knows more?

Just an update...
The Black Swan is a (split level) very tastefully decorated spotlessly clean English Style Pub that serves excellent food at very reasonable prices .
It makes a welcome change to be able to sit down and have a quiet conversation with a good pint of Guiness  ......Maybe I am getting too old.
But saying that, they do have live music sometimes...

It is a loser. Closed already...
Now replaced by a place called "Pedro Music Bar". looks a lot better but have not found the time to check it out. Theme seems to be music in the form of music videos and a normal bar. Does not look too bad at all. Location is off though. Boozers are either going to Cowboy or do not stop at all in this area.

Pedro is owned and run by the previous owner of Dreams at Soi 7/1.
The concept is the same. Nice decor and 5-7 girls (ranging in quality). Concert and music DVDs all night long.
There are two floors and an outside area. The upper features a couch where you can relax with one or more of their hostesses.
Drinks are reasonable priced (Heineken 100 bt, soft drinks 60 baht.
They open at 10am. Currently food, massage and a band on certain days are planned. No bank, ATM or Internet is planned yet.... 
The bar is not too busy. Although at times a lot of passer-bys who pop in.

I agree. I could never understand why someone hasn't placed a dozen ATM's at a place like Soi Cowboy. Presumably they are worried about theft. It is just a pain to have to hike 10 minutes to get cash... especially when your darling is waiting for you!
