Although I think the problem have been resolved (sort of), this should be a caution to anyone who visit this bar. I stopped by Rainbow II in NEP for a drink. The place was packed with bunch of Asian cliente (including yours truly) as always. I started chatting with this good looking girl named Jen. Everything was good and we had struck a deal for 1800 Baht ST. While she went to get changed, I checked my cash to make sure that I had the exact change for her, which I did. We got back to my room. I mistakenly trust and left my wallet in my money belt in the open and un-guarded while I was in the shower. Afer our session, she quickly got up and rushed into the bathroom. When she came out, I went into my wallet to get money for her. I suddenly noticed that I no longer had the exact change for her and was down a few thousand Baht. The situation was getting fishy but I wanted to just let it go. I gave her 2000 Baht and asked for change. She said she needed the extra for taxi home. Again, I let it go. After she left, I re-checked my wallet and now I realized that the American cash that I had (about $100 or so), is now missing as well. That was it. I got dressed and went back to Rainbow II. I told the mamasan that she had taken $100 US and about 5000 Baht from me. At about the 5th time I was telling them the story at which time they were trying to call her to come back, guess who decided to come back to the bar and not gone home ? The argument went on for a bit longer before they started going through her bag. It turns out that she had also stolen a $100 US Traveller Check from me that I had not noticed until now. So in summary, I'm now missing about $100 US in cash, $100 US Traveller Check and about 5000 Baht. They gave me back the traveller check and 5000 Baht thinking that was it. By this time, everybody from all of the nearby bars are watching us carry this argument just outside of the bar. Then I spend the next 1/2 hour trying to explain about 300 times to them that she had stolen and owed me another $100 US. After almost 45 minutes, I gave up. Came back to my hotel. 10 minutes later, Jen was at my door with the hotel security guard. She was trying to explain and justifiy herself and that she hadn't done any of these things. The security guard didn't want to get involved and refused to get her out of my room despite my so many requests. After another 1/2 an hour, she finally confessed that she had stolen my traveller check, but ONLY $60 US, which she exchanged to Thai Baht right after she left my room at Landmark Hotel Exchange Booth. She wanted some of the money back and me to explain this to mamasan so she can have her job back. After almost another 30 minutes of arguing, she finally confessed that she had stolen Thai Baht from my wallet as well, but ONLY about 3000 Baht. I told her that I don't know exactly how much I had but I don't trust her. I refused to give any money back to her or try to get her job back in Rainbow II. By the time I finally got her out of my room, I told the guard and all the maids that under no circumstances are they to allow her to come up to my room again.
I don't think she's there anymore, but beware of this girl and of Rainbow II.

Thanks for the advice, but dont be to harsh on the actual business itself R2. Remember that they do not control what a girl does once she leaves the premises, they may have never had a complaint about her before and they cannot know she is a thief from just her looks at the interview stage.
By the sounds of it, they actually did a lot to help you get your problem solved, there are plenty of bars around that would not take that amount of time and effort and even simply say 'your bad luck'.
They also sacked the girl, this goes a long way in telling you that they dont tolerate this kind of behaviour when they know about it.

Like I said, more or less, I think the problem have been resolved. I had 2 other incidences in all my years in Thailand that I thought I got ripped off (not stolen goods). I went back to the bars and got a reasonable amount of money back. So, I was satisifed.
More bad/strange bar girl experience last night. A girl came and sat with me in Mandarin last night on her own free will. She kept trying to talk to me in Thai even after I said I don't speak it. Through mostly sign language, she requested and I bought her lady drink and also barfine. As we were on our way to my hotel and into my room, she continued to try to speak Thai to me insisting I know Thai. (She speaks a little English.) When she entered my room, she was shock to see a box of condom by my bed. She was even more stunned to see I had playboy pictures on my laptop screensaver. And then she was more stunned that I have porn DVD near my laptop. After she went into the bathroom, I thought she went to take a shower, but only to come back with her top and underwear still on. I tried to touch and play with her but she insisted that I was Thai and wanted to see my passport. After showing it to her, she is finally convinced now that I'm not Thai. When I tried to touch her again, she said "leave me alone." At that time, I just simply asked her to leave. I don't think her English was good enough to tell me what her problem with me was. If I didn't know better, I would say that she was either drunk/hi on something because she just kept smiling and laughing about each of these things. One of those trips... Poseidon and Eden. I agree in fact you should make it a point to BF another girl from R2. If that have been AW you would have been f***ed.
Secondly, a few of us bros had noticed that R2 had hired another girl that had a dubious past. Upon alerting the mamasan she was promptly fired. So three cheers for R2 and that is coming from a NJ.
