I was staying at the GP and on a whim decided to hit this place late on the 31st. Didn't get ripped off in anyway. Don't remember what the barbill was but it was nothing that grabbed my attention. Talked and danced with this OK looking girl for awhile and all was cool. I didn't want to take anyone home that night so don't know how that would have gone. I liked it enough that I went back a little earlier the next night and met this really cute girl who was giving me a stronger and stronger come on clearly looking to get barfined. Again the barbill was about what I would expect and no pressure from anyone. I asked the girl about upstairs as it looked pretty good and she quietly told me we could go up there but it probably wasn't worth it so I believed her. I didn't ask what she meant by that. I liked her and if I didn't have an early day on Tuesday and was a little less drunk I might have barfined her. I would probably go back when in the mood for a quieter place to hang out.

This was my neighboorhood bar for my two years in Bangkok...Good place to stop off at on the way home from the plaza or cowboy...one last night cap. They used to stay open a bit past the 2am closing to catch those on the way home after last call...never took a girl out and never really bonded with any of them much. It was the closest thing to a Soi33 bar that I frequented. Good peanuts!

I have stayed at the GP probably 15 times and awhile back I was going to look for a new place because the rooms got so shabby. It is a great place to stay if you stay in Tower II and ask for one of the newly renovated floors which tend to be the higher floors. Rooms are very nice, price is good, guest friendly and I have no complaints. This last visit I got a room that was not renovated and had to whine a bit before they moved me to a better room.

Pardon me for butting in.. Tower 2 is next to the main lobby and tower 3 is across the street. I was pleasantly surprised to get a room upgrade when I checked in last month and ended up on the 22nd floor.
And I spent a bit of time at Avapub/bar chatting with Nid. I agree about the peanuts!

The above message could easily be misinterpreted.
Tower 1 is where you book in on arrival, tower 2 is where you pay on departure and tower 3 is across the road.
I was staying at the Landmark for the first time, but after 4 nights I decided to move to the GP, I just like the place.
Iwas lucky to get in as they said they were full.
