There's a restaurant that I enjoy eating at very much in Patpong 2 ( Le Boucheron} What I was wondering is whether there are any fairly quiet bars nearby where one can meet a decent lassie?
Yes, I know Cosmos and its a nice joint, but the lassies there don't have much style.
I guess that I'm looking for something along the style of Office Bar in Soi 33. One thing is for sure, a chap of my advanced years has trouble putting up with the din of Patpong's loud Kings Group go-gos for very long.

I suggest the Crown Royal on Patpong Soi 2. It's fairly small, not too noisy and the BGs are not too pushy. Not on the same scale as the Office. I would say its an acquired taste.
Coming from Silom it's on the right hand side before the car park.

I'd second the choice of Crown Royal.
Executive Lounge can also be worth a visit but seems to have deteriorated in recent months.

executive lounge is great afternoon...karaoke noisy at night. crown, yes; and try madrid (great pizzas too), go from crown straight out the door, keep straight down the food soi, & straight in the madrid door.

Executive Lounge is quiet and polite but I agree with Bangkok Chang that it's gone down of late. A pity as it used to be very good and a pleasant respite from pounding gogo bars. I had 2 superb women there in 2000 & 2002.
However, this year and last year hostesses have been less attractive, less attentive plus the 2 hard-nosed mamasans (who are not into men) have become less receptive to westerners imho. The girls hardly approach now and not much English spoken these days. There are often small groups of oriental businessmen seated at the round tables, relegating you as an individual to perch on a stool at the bar.
Still worth a look, if only for the peace; might be lucky too, one never knows.
Crystal, further down PP2 towards Silom and on the same side as Executive Lounge, is in the same ownership. It's much bigger and busier but with same hostess formula.

A note about the Crown Royale's location.
I only go to Patpong about every six months (it takes that long to get over my irritation from the last visit). Every time I come to Patpong I like to stop by here, and every time I get lost trying to find it.
Last time I figured out why. It doesn't have a flashy sign, but it's right next to a big neon sign for a gogo with pushy gogo girls trying to pull me in for a drink. "Electric Blue" is the sign/gogo in question.
Crown Royale thus always ends up within the range of my "I'm not looking at you" field of vision, when I'm avoiding the girls at Electric Blue, and so it is that I usually wander around Patpong for an hour, getting angrier and angrier with those shit-eating touts that follow and harass you everywhere. Goddamf***ingtoutsIf***inghatethemandpatpongf***f***f***hatethemshits.
So. Look for "Electric Blue" gogo. Crown Royale is right next door, with a nice relaxed environment, as requested.

Thought I'd resurrect this little thread because I know that having a quiet and peaceful time is important to most of us older brothers.
I too find the music in most bars are a little too loud at times.
All I want is to lay back and enjoy the feel of the place and quietly enjoy my drink.
It was then, to my sublime enjoyment, a few years ago now, when I happened to fall into the Star of Light in Patpong 2 in the early afternoon to find only five or six customers in there. There must have been some sort of football match going on, on T.V. to keep the customers busy elsewhere. or was it Christmas ?
Anyway, the T.V. wasn't on in the bar and the music had been turned off. None of the other customers were engaged in conversation, so it was a most relaxing time just to sit down and drink my beer to the soothing sounds of the girls working and slurping away at the blow-jobs. rather like the lapping of the waves at the sea-shore. Tranquil, soothing and relaxing. Absolutely wonderful. I have returned many times and shall return again and again for the beach experience. No hassles. No fuss about prices...a clear-cut rate....and two or three in attendance to your needs. Heaven.

in defense of yout s they only bother you if you acknowledge them. they dont waste their time with deaf mutes like me...lol.
