I spent 2 weeks in November mostly at the Golden Bar that belongs to Nana Hotel (ex-Nana coffee shop outside Soi 4 if you remember, just opposite NEP). The reason for this is that all BGs have been extremly nice and polite to me. No stress, no fighting amongst BG over barfine, etc. Instead just a heaven of harmony whenever I showed up to choose my evening entertainment.
The relaxing experience of this place is so fresh in my mind I am wondering I did something wrong. I am about to check out Soi Cowboy next time. BankgkokBob's website recommends this as an even more relaxed place. But will it be right for me ? I like to talk to the girls not disturbed by loud music and while the hours pass away get drunk in a relaxed atmoshpere without beeing pushing into something. Anyone to comment on Golden Bar vs. Soi Cowboy for the very same purpose I just stated ?

I enjoy this causal environment as well. It is a short walk from the Landmark and the ladies are easy to talk with. After a beer or two the Bus Stop or the pool hall down the street on the NEP side are also relaxing stops.

Beerbars are a different concept than gogo's. If you're more into bb, there are a few nice beerbars in Soi Cowboy as well...
The best beerbars imho are:
The one you mentioned (Nana Hotel)
Morning Night (Soi 4 closer to Suk. Rd. many beautiful girls, quite noisy though)
NEP entrance and ground floor in general
Biergarten Soi 7 (huge place with loads of FL and (German) food as well)
There are trillions more... (Soi 0 below the Highway, Suk 1 Plaza close to Soi 1, Washington Sq. Soi 22, Patpong also has some open air live music venues)

Yes, beautiful girls. I remember Hum and Tom specifically.
But very noisy loud music. You can hardly do any small talk. If I want to listen to good music I am using my iPod. Did this at Nana Disco one night. Brought my portable player and tuned it to max loudness in my ears. Quite an experience to hear Metallica and watch the girls head banging to the riffs - in my imagination at least. I was drunk ?!
The girls at Morning Nightmare are too pushy for my taste. Exactly why I recommend the Golden Bar. Life can be so easy...

Interesting local name. I did not know this as I am falang of course. Anyway, I was happy with this place, the attitude of the girls and myself spending a lot of time there with them. Seen much worse places IMHO during that two weeks and thus returned happily every day or so.
Maybe it is called Sad Man, because when you have to fly back home your are feeling sad ?

And I believe I can say I like this bar and can live happy ever thereafter without your sarcastic comments. Your opinion is welcome on this forum, but not to the extend to alter my original intention that *I* felt good there. That's my business, not yours. What the heck, you can of course post here whatever you wish and you should actually. My point is, I was posting about the bar itself but you changed the topic to the clientele you *think* there is. Poor brain.
