Hi Folks,
I had read several times before that PatPong upstairs go-go bars that were not owned by the King’s Group can be rip-offs. But I had never been (knowingly) ripped-off in a go-go bar, and I felt immune to such bad fortune. The following took place at "Cleopatra", the upstairs go-go bar at PatPong2. I don’t know who owns it, but I doubt it’s King’s Group.
We paused briefly at the door before entering the place. There were only about two customers inside, and perhaps three girls on stage. One of the stage girls was doable. My friend and I each ordered a beer and settled in. Soon, a petite dancer wearing a mask came prancing out on stage like that self-indulgent my-shit-don’t-stink Irish dancer Michael Flatley. This girl was one misshapen piece of work, and left me feeling like I was witnessing a freak show, not a show that would lead to thoughts of sex.
I had noticed that we had not been given a bill for our drinks. No bill cup. No nothing. I also noticed that the few other customers did not have bills either. This seemed very suspicious, and I immediately asked my Thai friend to request the bill. Our katoey waiter (waitress?) said that the bill would come. Then our waiter (waitress?) wanted to know if we wanted any of the dancers to sit with us. The masked freak-of-the-universe dancer was surely not a candidate. But the doable dancer was, and I requested that she join us. Once she did, I bought her a drink. Then it was time to get screwed. Another employee came over to notify us that our bill was 900 baht. Right. 900 baht for the three drinks. We left promptly.
So unless you enjoy being fleeced, you may keep your distance from Cleopatra.

It is my opinion that Cleopatra is still owned by the Kings Group. It used to be King's Cloud.
It has come to my attention that also Kings Group tries to make up for the decreased interest. I was shown '70 baht' for happy hour (until 22.30) but was billed THB 100 baht. This was Queen 3.
When I complained downstairs, they said there was no happy hour (the ad has two sides).

I dont do not think those upstairs bars are worth anything that money can not get you anywere else. Have any one EVER BF a girl from those places they are freaks and old and huge....
Ok if its first time Thailand go and see it then never ever go there.

I know that Superqueen is a King's group bar. I have spent a lot of time and even more money there over the last 10 years. I stopped going there about a year ago because after all those visits, drinks for mama and good tips I was clearly and undeniably ripped off. I bought about 6 drinks including 1 for each of the two mama's and two girls and the second mama must have thought I was drunk and handed me a bill for over 3K. The mama I knew started arguing with her in Thai but she just gave her a dismissive look. Too many other places to go to put up with that even once.

The only upstairs bars I ever enjoyed frequenting (I haven't done any in a couple years or more) were the places that K. Somsak managed. He's mentioned in other threads. His places a good deal, used to be good shows. He enjoyed a drink. For some reason the girls in his bars were always wild, kinky, some naked (even during the police menaces) and would do you in the bathroom. Haven't seen him for a spell but like Star of Light I used to use his go go's as a breaker-inner for friend or acquaintance newbies that wanted to get shown around.

You make me think back to the old days when things were a little more loose. Back in the times when if a girl didn't do you in the toilet, at least one of them groped you when you were trying to take leak! Its all still fun, but it used to be more fun.
