For years now I have spotted an increasing number of these places popping up, more in the burbs than anywhere.
Small places normally in a 3 or 4 storey shop house, plenty of neon, massive pictures of scantily clad girls, and outside site about 10 extremly sexy girls in coyote gear, the ones I see are on Pattanakarn and Udomsuk, also on Srinakarin.
So WTF is the SOP ?
Whilst out with a freind on Udomsuk we were agressively waved and called out at by such stunners so decided to check it out.
On close inspection the girls were even prettier, 18-20 yrs old, none of them older, skimpy bra tops, extremely skimpy cur denim shorts or hot pants, and they were giggly and smiley.
We asked what the place was and was told it is a karoake bar, private room set up. So we asked about prices, 200 baht for the VIP room, 400 Baht for a girl to join you for karaoke, small heineken/Leo beer 250 baht (Yikes) a bottle of Red Label was 1,600 baht with mixers at 50% off.
We thought we'd go for it but were short on time (couple of hrs before the wifes curfew came into effect) and didn't want to spend money and time wasted having our dicks teased. We ventured through the big open front door.
Inside was a sofa, a cashier area and some stairs going up. We were asked to sit where somebody went through all of the prices with us again (making sure the crazy farrang doesn't get angry when the bill cums and he hasn't ?!?). Whilst this is going on all of the girls outside have left us and are back outside acosting others.
My freind and I just didn;t get the vibe, we joked with a girl who appeared from inside about what can happen in the room, she said lady take care and rubbed my shoulder, I glanced down smiling and said and take care everywhere and she laughed as if I was making a naughty joke. Short story is we declined, it just felt a little too easy to get conned in terms of no fun with the girls, or girly drinks or bait and switch or something.
We left and they were fine, but it did make me wonder, Udomsuk is not Thonglor, it's not Ekkamai, its full of factory workers, low level office employee types, not big money, who are these places trying to attract ?
I just wondered if others have the low down, what goes on, what can you expect and do you need to take a credit card to cover it !!
Ideas ?

I had a similar experience in CM a couple years ago...
Out on a stroll in the mid-evening walked past numerous places as you describe. I would agree, these had the hottest young women I've seen here. After passing a couple, I could not resist but to find out what the deal was...
Essentially, everything that follows is a mirror of above. I would imagine these places try to cater for the local clientele. I also imagine if you speak decent Thai (I don't) you have a slightly better chance of getting somewhere with some of the ladies.
Other falangs I know experience the same thing... dropped 2-4 thousand baht on beer, food for the girls, the girls, etc. and walked out with dick in hand and no satisfaction.

As Meatyswg pointed out, There are hundreds of these KTV place all over metropolitan bkk area. Pretty much you pay the girl to go to the ktv room. and after about 10-15 min, everything come off and pretty much anything u want to do can be done including FS, just depend how much tip u willing to leave. The pricing is much cheaper than G club in central bkk. Thai skill definitely will help and quality of the girl really vary from one place to another. However, many of these girl are very hyper in the room and most is on some chemical.
Last trip I went to this KTV out in Ladprao area, the place is a hole in the wall, my friend and I, take abut 10 girl in the ktv room, out of the 10 girls we picked, most is solid 6- 7 with couple of 8-9, no 10s but very few girls are 10 for me. After couple of hours we had pretty much done all of them. All for less the 20K which is about half of what we usually spend in a BKK glcub for same amount of girls.

@juniper > is it the kind of place where the ladies drink what you order, so if you order beer they drink your beer and if you go for a bottle of whiskey they'll drink that with you, or is it a whole range of lady drinks on top ?
Just thinking that BOW, mixers, room and 4 girls would work to about 4,000 between 2 guys, for 1hr, from there we could gauge tips and action.
At these prices they certainly do not appear to be going for the type of Thai's frequenting the areas, very confusing.
Incidentally was taken to a house in Samutprakarn last night, there were 20 girls inside the house, it was 450 Baht for 40 minutes, it was made clear no massage, just sex !! The girls seemed smiley and freindly, there were several Thai guys around (working security/door/parking) but it was all very freindly, girls ranged from 2's to 6.5's, I couldn't make up my mind if it was for me or not, (thoughts of traficking and imprisonement sprung to mind purely due to the low cost and Thai guys working around) I decided to make excuses and not partake, there was no problem with this. I guess this is what they call a Lady House? Has anyone any experience of these, are they legit in the sense that like MP's girls 'choose' to be there, or is it forced ? There was a cutie giving me the (working) eye, but i'm not interested if the girls are not there of their own free will.

The girls almost always drink out of your whiskey, You pay for the girl's time not drinks. If you want to buy them cocktail on top of that, is up to you.
Further away from central bkk, the cheaper the price.

Actually, I reckon there were more places before the Skytrain... when Bangkok was still so spread out. But every neighborhood district is different.
I think the girls are cuter and often cooler, but sometimes not. They can be quite narrow minded at times, used to only Thai clientele and a certain formula.
You may look up some threads in the Miscellaneous section and maybe the Nightlife section about cheap places; there was some interesting info some years back. Thanks for your post. I have had similar experiences. And no, none of the girls, even for those cheap prices, were "forced" to be there. That's a different industry, so far as I know, criminal, called Human Trafficking. It's possible they had contracts of some sort, but they were Thai citizens, so there's nothing really binding them anywhere, unlike foreigners. They probably just wound up in the job like every other Thai girl: word of mouth and connections.

I unintentionally caused some confusion on this thread !
My opening piece was all about the karaoke/Coyote Thai venues, my post made yesterday referred to a Lady House, altogether different. Apologies.
Nice to know they're not forced and it is a choice place, I may have to give cutie a try, at those prices you could take her out to a hotel for the day !
