I`m a decent good player and I like playing 9ball or 14-1 at a serious level. not pro but ì manage
My question is this: are there any good tables or any clubs in the suk area?
The beer-bar tables won`t do it for me. I need a good table with a good poolcue....

If you think you're that hot then head to bamboo bar. There's one guy there, forget his name but he is in his 40s and everyone knows him and he is seriously good! If you're brave enough, play him for money.
But firstly, I would suggest you get some practice at Gullivers table 1. It's winner stays on and only the best players play on table 1. Look out for Chang, OT, Magic & Ja. They're the best players in da house and there most nights.

Ball in Hand next to Raj Hotel on Soi 4.
On the right just past Tequila Bar, up the stairs, 2nd Floor. Very good and well kept tables.
9 Ball Tournaments every Sunday for men (Sat for ladies).
Sometimes the #1 player in Thailand shows up but he does not always win as the tourney is handicapped.
The venue alternates with Hillary Bar just 50 yards up the street.
Tell Henning Paul recommended the place to you.

thats the great thing about tournaments that everyone can win. 9 ball is all about patience and striking when the time is right. I love to play 14-1 also. more of a challenge to yourself that game. anyone tried it?

I play recreational pool only so am not an expert but I was not impressed with Bamboo Bar.
For those who are serious I think the tables are poor. For those who like a bit of fun I suggest elsewhere. I found the supposedly serious players here to be very anti-social (& not as good as they think they are). One guy was being beaten by my TG and played a deliberate foul shot to give her a more difficult next shot..really petty.
I walked away from the table when the guy I was playing wouldn't lighten up despite telling him that he could stay on the table even if I won. I know these guys like to stay on because it gives them the chance to hustle but it seems that they have all had personality bypasses.
I hope Bamboo is not like this every night but I have only been back once since then..and no I did not play pool!

good thing you straightened that out, hehe. could have been one more embarassment in my life;)
anyway, a game of 9 ball can be won by anyone. actually last time I was I BKK I lost to a guy with one arm. no joke. the point is that if we play 100 time I will win 97 of them;) but you might get a few wins... mohahaha.... and I cant play against girsl cause I never can seem to take the game serious. I just look at the girl;)

The Brunswick on soi 4, further down from Ball in hand and Hillary's has tables in excellent condition. This isn't one of the more popluar bars nightlife wise, but it has some of the best tables I've seen in Suk area.

The Factory is a good place after dark, Some seriously good players in there on some nights. They need to turn the thermostat down on the AC though!!!
