I was in BKK last month (mid August) and was at the Dollhouse (Clinton Plaza). Bunch of pretty cute girls there. There was some major construction going on around there at the time. What is the construction for and is the Dollhouse (CP) still open?

the construction will be a new sofitel hotel. the entire clinton plaza is expected to be closed sooner or later. there are some major law suites pending on this, but clintons days are more or less numbered!

Hey brother Tyler, if you'll go to Stickmans web site and read this weeks report it says that the new owners of the property are trying to drive the present tenants out by building fences and gates around certain areas of Clinton Plaza to prevent customers from entering. So far it's worked on Checkpoint Charlie beer bar because they are now closed for good and all of the ladies that worked there are now at Charlies Angels, but who knows how long the rest of them will last. And what will happen to Thermae? It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out, but I don't think that Clinton Plaza is long for this world. We'll see what the future holds. Peace

I´m coming to Bangkok at latest in january (maybe during the fall). Is there any risk of the other areas (Nana, Soi Cowboy, PP and so on) meeting a smimilar fate as Clinton? Or will the gogos at least be there when I come in a few months?? Whats your opinions?

Well lets hope not anyway. I remember all the boasting about how clinton was going to rule the nightlife scene when it first got started. The test of time did'nt cut them any slack. I am currious about how the law suites are going to play though????

Last month the smaller bars in CP were really struggling. The power had been cut off and they were trying to carry on business by candlelight. Also the entrance had been virtually blocked off by a large CONSTRUCTION WARNING sign.
I chat to a girl who did work in one of the bars and she told me the general feeling was that the power cuts were just more pressure from the developers.

NEP is relatively new compared to Cowboy or the Pong.
I remember when it opened everyone said "What a joke. It will never be as popular as Patpong or Soi Cowboy. It will probably fail."
But some institutions do disappear (sadly one day Thermae WILL almost certainly go); I won't bore you with any Old Hand Tales to prove it but take my word for it. Just because Nightlife in BKK has always been a certain way doesn't mean it always will be. Time marches on and even LOS is not immune to change.

Dollhouse Cowboy is alive and well, I was there about a week ago and it was hopping more than any of the other bars I went into that night. In general I would have said the bars were not very busy. DollHouse Clinton was open but very slow. Plenty of girls and some of high quality but very short on customers.
