Unforunately the % of getting HIV vary depending on the situation, and who you actually talk to. My advice to you is to just go and get tested. This is the only way you will no for sure if you did contract the HIV virus or not.

all girls in all respectable gogo's do get tested for hiv once a month. if they do not come up with a test their salary willbe cut and afte another three months not tested they will be kicked out.
This way you are pretty save (not 100% sure of course, she might caught something just from the previous customer) that gogo girls compared to freelancers are 'clean'. I myself consider the barfine as an insurance premium for knowing that these girls are more or less clean and safe. if any porblem occurs i can always you back to the bar.
in about 10 years being in los i never - never came about any gogo girl who i knew got infected with hiv. also asking around many expats none of those cases come to anyones mind. once again there is no guarantee but the odd's are perfectly for you.
many of the guys i know usually have totally unprotected sex with all kinds of girls, also never encountered any problems in many years! sometimes i feel this entire hiv thing is put up by certain social organisations such as the curch to make as all feel bad and guilty!

The negative, I would never trust the bars to maintain good records.. even the King's group.. also, the girl can get fake reports cheaply and not even have to have the blood work done.
the positive, it is damn near impossible for a guy to get HIV from a woman .. the old stats said that even guys/girls taking it in the ass from an infected man would only get the virus once in about 200 times.. for vaginal sex it was more like once in 1.000 .. this is for the f_ckee .. for the f_ckor, they could not even come up with a number for heterosexual contact ..
That is why the main cause of transmission is needles and butt f_cking .. there are unique circumstances in Africa that make transmission from male to female more common and from female to male .. open sores and lack of cleanliness being the main ones ..

Everyone has great points.
But ... the bottom line is that nothing is 100% and such, you should get tested if you feel like there is even a remote chance you could have been infected. It's just a simple blood tests and the results should be available within a couple of days.
Just take the test and don't worry about it.

Another stat: My TG told me (a former go-go dancer) that in her bar on Soi Cowboy, she was required to get monthly checkups for the usual STDs, and HIV tests every three months. She got the monthly stuff done at the clinic down at the end of Soi Cowboy, and the 3 monthly HIV test done at the hospital (had to take the Sky Train to do that). She told me the story of one of her friends, also a go-go dancer at the same bar, that had a case of genital warts (Papilloma virus) removed "surgically," under local anesthetic -- which is not the current accepted practice for getting rid of those pesky things. Needless to say, that girl couldn't walk, much less dance and make money for a few days.
BTW, the United Nations AIDS project has issued a report on the incidence of HIV in SEA, including Thailand. In bad areas, they claim it's as high as 12%. In other sectors, about 3 to 4%. The report is avaliable on their website (I posted the link elsewhere in a similar thread before, but can't remember where). In that armpit called Poipet (Cambodia), just across the river from Aranya Prathet, the incidence is as high as 60% of the working girls, and 3 to 4% (and rising) in the wives of the men who are f_cking those ladies.

well done Cj, think your on to it ... just for the record however, amongst all the long term members, have you had much association/knowledge of those ÝBGs who copped the dreaded disease ? Ý- reason I ask, in a dozen plus years frequenting Bars, pick up joints etc in LOS, knowing over the years no doubt into the 1000's of bar and or working girls, knowing also most do little but drink, smoke, take yah bah and must have an almost zero immune system, and that most also, when under the influence dont worry or care about condoms, I have only heard of 2 that allegedly died of HIV, and both had thai boyfriends who mainlined heavily - Ý I just find it surprising that many of the Thai working girls, and in particular the streetworkers, Thermae, Grace etc. ones, are still going strong 5,8, 10 years on ?? I think you, I, and others have reffered to this before but my experience reflects yours:In addition to that I myself engaged in MUCH "high risk" activity with many, many "high risk" partners for many years. Still HIV Neg.
Of course these facts are not conclusive. And we simply don't know how many may have gone home to waste away...
