I see the hotels are a bit cheaper out in Pratunam near Pantip Plaza. Is there any night life out there? What about walking around at 1 or 2 am in that area. I know it is very safe on Sukhumvit but don't know about Petchburi. Can anyone chime in here and help me out?

Everywhere is safe in Bangkok.Even in Kloeng Toe.
About Pratunam: very quet place,beside some Karaoke and working girls around Bayoke sky is nothing to do here.You can try Thai style bar on the crossroad of Rachaprapor and Si Ayudaya,but mostly this place is for VERY drunk Thais,and they going crazy there 1-2 times a week: like gangs fighting after everybody is drunk.
Ahhh almost forgot: underground disco on Soi Rachapan,smoke ya-ba and you will feel belong there....

The "Grand Diamond" is right near Pantip... 888 Petchburi. I have not personally tried the place, but a friend says it's open all day and has Thai, oil and soapy. Can anybody confirm on that?

I think the next time I have some questions, I am going to do this:
I will go to internet "cafe" along the busy streets. I will pretend to look for a computer, but really check out who is posting on this forum ( since I know what it looks like, it shouldn't take more than a glance). Then I will strike up a conversation (trying not to seem like stalking). But you guys are all asleep during the day and prowl at night, right???
