Seeing as I posted this in the wrong place already I apologise and hope you'll still reply.
I have heard this mentioned in passing in several posts and wonder if any of you guys have more information on this ?
From my understanign these are cheap seedy places that are much cheaper than the various MP's.
Honestly I would really like to know where to find a couple in BKK or Pattaya as it'd be interesting to check it out.
If there's any horror stories out there to put me off I'd be interested to hear them aswell.

One big thing you got to be careful of is that sometimes these places like to have a stock of underaged girls providing rompers in the rooms.

There used to be a lot of these places in Visutkasat Road and in Chinatown - years ago now but probably still there. Usually located in "Hotels" with a number for a name, you would drive in and be taken to a room by the Papasan and then a parade of girls would be brought in - in various price ranges - for you to choose from.
Frankly you would well advised to steer clear of such places, not only is the incidence of STD's MUCH higher among these girls because there are no medical checkups and the clientele is mainly low class Thai, the operations are Brothels in the absolute worst sense of the word. Often with underage girls, almost always the girls are from minority groups (Hilltribes for example) or illegal immigrants from Burma, Cambodia etc. who have been sold into the sex trade and are unable to escape because they have no documents or Thai citizenship - exactly the sort of place which the West likes to stereotype as typical "Sex Industry" establishments in Thailand.
If risky, very basic sex from an unwilling partner is what you are looking for then these are the places to go - if you want a fun experience stick with the Gogo Bars and MP's.

I am not sure why you'd want to go to a brothel when there so many freelancers and BGs in BKK. One could go to Eden club for a 3-some, but I've had 3-somes from freelancers as well. IMHO, it is more interesting to scope out Soi7 or some other beer garden for a while and make your pick.
