I wasn't really sure where to post this since it covers a lot of areas. Miscellanous seemed appropriate. Forgive me for the length...this posting has been a long time in coming.
First off, has there been a price increase in bar fines and ST/LT fees? I live in Bangkok, but I was "out of the game" so to speak for about 6 months as I had a Thai girlfriend. Well, I just recently came back in and the two weekends I've gone scouting, I've noticed a few things seems to have changed:
*Bar fines are up? I thought the usual barfine in Bangkok was 500 baht, but in NEP I was quoted 600 baht at every bar I asked at.
*No more LT? Almost every bargirl and freelance girl I asked would only go for ST. Was it something I said? They all had reasons or stories to say why they didn't do LT, but I hadn't run into this problem previously.
*Price increase? When I was scouting at the beergarden and nana parking lot, I was being quoted 1500-2000 for ST and 2500-4000 for LT. Granted, I look Japanese so I get the Japanese price, but I wasn't quoted these prices before. I figure the industry standard is about 1500 for ST and 2000 for LT though my friend swears he never pays more than 1000. I've found 1500 for the first time, and the price is sometimes lowered for repeat customers.
*Earlier bar time closings. It seems like the bars now close at 1am, but I have been at NEP around 2am and they were just closing. Anyone know when they close at 1am and when they close at 2am? I was at Cowboy the other day and they closed at 1am (same with beergarden, but not Thermae).
Some other misc. info (sorry, but I figure one post that covers most topics rather than multiple posts across the forum would be less irritating) :
Oil Massage:
Two thumbs up (among other things) for Angel massage. Similar set up to Baron's and similar prices. The first time I went, the shower was outside, but the second time, it was inside the room. Try to ask for that room if you want to start things from the get go.
Anyone ever try Thewi Thai Massage near Phayathai BTS? 500 baht/hour for oil (a little pricey), but you get your own private room and shower and the girl gives you a massage wearing a robe and undergarments only underneath (nice when her silk panties rub up against you during the massage). I don't believe FS is available here, but I didn't really push for it.
I did try Dai-Ichi massage, but declined any services since she propositioned after only 20 minutes of an hour massage and kept pressuring for extras and a tip since "that's the only money they receive. Oil massage get no money."
For those in or near Khao San...I've tried most oil massage places and I was never offered any extras. Go across the bridge to Pinklao or take a bus into town should you been in need.
I've been meaning to try out Love Massage, but every time I go by, there seems to only be old women in the shop.

Soapy Massage
Had a very good time at Porn Petch the other day. Entered Catherine's and Sai Fon also. In Sai Fon, there were two girls that caught my eye when I entered. I sat down for a second to decide and then boom! One gets up and walks out of the room. Well, guess that makes my decision for me - blam! The other one walks out of the room. Is someone reading my mind and calling the girls out before I can get to them? Note: if you are going to take the subway to New Petchaburi, keep in mind that it's at Asoke and Petchaburi (near the Plaza) so it might be a long walk to some of the other MPs. Is the next subway station closer anyone?
Taking a girl home
Do you guys ever worry about taking a BG home (this is addressed to those who live in BKK) ? I've been a bit wary about doing this since I'm worried about things being stolen or even her coming back when I'm not there and ripping me off. Anyone had this happen to them?
'Nuff said. Hope to see some of you at the RT this month. It'll be a first for me. Has the location been decided?

Baron's I have always had ensuite showers except once when I only booked a 90 min session.
Did find that a lot of girls in BKK only wanted ST or LT with a 6/7 am split on my June trip, Pattaya was no problem the 1st girl stopped 2 days, 2nd girl one day, the two girls on last night did a 12 hr shift.

Closing times might change after this month, depending on who wins the election for Bangkok governor.
Barfines: yup. seems to be going up. 600b slowly but surely becoming the norm at NEP. dunno about Cowboy though.

You can compare the prices using the page as a guideline. It's not set in stone, I reckon. (however it seems that for the beergarden, you were quoted prices higher than the average range)

Paid 450 bf two weeks ago in Cowboy for one of the girls who stands outside. I seem to remember. Was good looker, had seen her around Sukhumvit after hours eating previously. Could have been 550.
Will be living for at least 6 months in BKK from October and am curious to know what residents do also about taking girls home. I suppose the last thing you want is them turning up unexpectedly which has happened in hotels before.
Oddly have never had a girl insist on going ST only for about a year. Have struggled to get rid of the odd one sometimes. Last ST only one rang the next day but didn't take her call.
