If this is the wrong section to be posting this or if it's already been covered, I apologise. There's a report in one of the Hong Kong papers this morning that smokers and drinkers in Thailand face a 14-hour drought each day in what is described as another blow to the tourism and hospitality industry. Under the new measures alcohol and cigarettes can only be sold from 11am to 2pm and then 5pm to midnight. It is likely that this measure will include bars, clubs and restaurants. Has anyone heard about this and any reaction? Will it affect Nana, SC, beer bars etc?

Less drunks, less expenses to treat alcohol abusers, less traffic accidents.... might be worthwhile. And Sirtitus and his brother-in-law might also benefit from that.... And a blessing for non-smokers. I actually proposed 8 - 11 am and 2 - 5 pm to Thaksin. But he refused that.

Dr. Love, He's Angel's brother-in-law, not mine... but I get your point. The less drunken Thais in my apartment, the better. I really doubt that there'll be much enforcement of the law anyway. Odds are go into a 7/11 at 4 p.m. and they'll still sell you beer. SirTitus
