All4 I have read a few comments from Blatts and I really think he was having a bad day. Why else would someone carry on that way. Depending on what your G/F is like, the beer hall called Tawandaeng (sp?) is a very fun place with Thai and falang food and Thai & western music. It would be more fun if you had a group to join (if she or you have friends in BKK). If you are out impress her with upmarket locales, try Bed club or Q Bar. Make sure she has her ID and that she is 21 or they won't let you in. There is plenty of eye candy and a lot of people trying hard to be cool but then there are some real people enjoying themselves as well. One other idea is to book one of the river dinner cruises. A nice, romantic evening and possibly a treat for an upcountry girl. Food isn't great but they can't hurt the Thai cuisine too badly. She would proably really love it if you took her on a temple tour. It might not be your top destination but she would probably appreciate it. I would recommend that you could mix in a bit of the temple tour activity with some other BKK night life- take her to temples by day and then she wouldn't mind seeing the world famous go go bars in Nana, or Cowboy at night. Of course you don't like those places but usually Thai girls are incredibly curious about them. remember to only go to places you have never been!! Have a good time.

I thought I was having a realy good day. Or atleast a fun day. Why else??? That is what humor is, going that extra mile and looking at whatever from a different angle. Have to agree on the temple tour, but did not mention it because it was NIGHT-LIFE you asked about. I found that with my girl in Pattaya, they realy like those temples they can't afford (time or money) to visit. For us a church is a church is a church ect. Except for historical value most of us could not care less. But for budhists it is more of a catholic thing. They have budha's/saints for everything. Every temple has it's own specialty. So they want to visit them for prayer. And you have pictures you can show your family at home. This is a win - win situation. And to All4one : I was never putting you down. I was of course making fun of your last remark. There was not a serious word in my whole post. And to make that sure I even put the smiley's there in three's. But you have to admit that being in thailand and NOT wanting to see thaigirls makes you vulnerable to some sort of joke. And of course I went over the top with it, but I'm unstoppable when I'm on a roll. And I already had spent the advice I had on this topic. Half the ideas here were mine. And you compliment me by insulting me. You insult me with accusing me to be a yank. Sorry mate, but I'm dutch. But what bigger compliment can you get from a native english speaker. If I can fool a brit, then I have nothing to worry about my english. And to Griffin : Learn to read before you write. Where did I say there were eskimo's on the southpole?????? [For future reference : Now this is a put down! There is no joke insight. As long as you see me make jokes, then don't worry.]

Is that south pole made of chrome? As a solution for wondering eyes, I noticed at the racetrack they sometimes put blinkers on the horses to help keep them focused, especially if any fillies happened to be at the post. I think you have to be hung like one to use this equipment, though.

Cheers for the info guys, excellent info as usual... Jack Attack, Yes that was the one I was thinking of...where is it ? (Tawandaeng) Blattsucker no offence mate - think I was probably having a bad day myself to react (and to call you one of Britains special friends (a yank), for that I'm truely sorry). Yes, I would normally go for the Temple Tour and have before - but unusually for a Thai she doesn't seem that taken on the Temples or even the Buddhist thing in general (which saves me a packet !)... I'll never forget my first Thai trip as a backpacker, lost my heart to a B/G and was as broke as hell she managed to get 2 Thousand Baht out of me one day, which was equivalent to a months rent - she promptly gave it to some old woman who knocked on the door selling pictures of monks....That was my first lesson in Jai Yen.... Surprised noone mentioned Suan Lum market, I think this is one of the best evenings out I've had in the City recently...Must admit I don't really like the Q Bars and Beds type of bar, I guess it reminds me of how westernised Thailand has become.... Re Suan Lum - you beat me to it. I went for first date with an internet 'good girl' pickup there last week. She loved it, and I enjoyed it too. Wandering around the alleys gives you a chance to relax with her, and then there are various bars and restaurants to relax in afterwards. She must have liked it. After we had dinner she offered to drive me back to my apartment, and asked to see what it was like inside. Lil scobie ended up seeing a lot of her insides that night

My guess Colisseum (another eating/entertainiment place) would be a good choice for the night. Do not remember the location. CG can probably fil in the details, as he took me there (with some girls, of course). I liked this place better than the Lumpini Bazar (inside with aircon, much better entertainment, entertaining toilet). You can read some notes on my visit to Colisseum: Wow! Lumpini Bazar: Karaoke mania!
