I wouldn't knock soccer too much............It's a universal language and as such a point of contact with almost any male on the planet. In Thailand that also applies to the femails.....They all love David Beckham............And they all drool over michael Owen. I point out I'm English and 'a little forward' myself!
Last week I turned into soi 6 parked my bike at the first bar. A girl comes over kisses my cheek,leads me into her bar,pulls a table and chair close to the screen showing the England friendly.......A chilled Singha arrives and she throws an arm around me and nibbles gently on my ear............... England win 6-0......The score in the sweat drenched England/Thailand match that followed was about the same.....The football had put us both in a great mood. I believe,and I'm not joking now, it gave us a conection and shared joy before we even touched the sheets. Maybe she was thinking of Micheal Owen

My TGF told me that the go-gos on Soi Cowboy will remain open and serve drinks. But, the girls are not allowed to be outside the bar and supposedly can't be pole dancing inside.
Who knows? Someone who is there should report out on what they find.

All is well so far,
spoke to lumphini guys an hour ago and nothing in the works to close the bars was made official.
They said no official closing was confirmed yet and they would notify bar owners atleast 1 day in advance if anything changes.
So we will see.

Just to put the record straight to those who are obviously confused in this string (are you American by any chance ?). The sport you refer to as 'soccer' is not called 'soccer' its called 'football' because its played with a foot kicking a ball, and it was invented before your version of 'football' so we are right to claim the name 'football' for our sport. What you call 'football' is really a bunch of morons running into each other wearing tights, helmets and armour plating. This has nothing to do with football whatsoever. You've got it SO wrong. And don't get me started on the 'World Series' nonsense !
