any idea how Bangkok will be during the summer Olympics ?
its Augest 8 thru 22 I think,
and how hard will it be to get a decent price plane flight from the USA,
Just wondering if the bars will turn into Sports Bars with naked girls 
What do you think ?

maybe I am in the minority, but I gave up watching the olympics after I was about 12 years old... a meaningless event every four years imho.......

I concur.......couldn't give a rat's ass about it.
I am enjoying the Torch Relay controversy though  . Maybe they should make this a new Olympic event.....a cross between relay races, dodgeball and capture the flag?

It won't matter if some British or Aussie football is being broadcast during the same time - the same guys will be glued to watching footy on the telly in the bars

I always seem to inadvertently plan my LOS f***-fest’s around international sporting events. One was the Soccer World Cup, now it’s the Beijing Olympics
I’m wanting to keep in touch with my countries sporting highlights but I’m assuming the local Thai tele will be concentrating on its own athletes
Can the local mongers provide any info as to whether the ex-pat pubs are advertising that they will be televising their countries cable sports channel during business hours?

Thais don't give a rats ass about the olympics cos they are hardly involved with the exception of some boxing and womens weightlifting events. I saw nothing of the 2000 or 2004 olympics on TV at all. Now that we have the SA feed in most pubs this might change though.

The high prices to BK from the US have nothing to do with the Olympics. WHICH ARE IN CHINA!
Airlines departing the US for Asia have added a $500 Gas surcharge to all tickets.

well most of the flights USA-BKK are not direct and will have people going to the Olympics filling seats for the over the Pacific part......

I'm having my own Olympics here in L.A., how many nano seconds will take to hit the remote in case any of that nonsense comes across my t.v.
Edit, hope China has implemented their plans for the huge amounts of syringes that will be in need of disposal
