I was at the Grace Coffee Shop last week. It's been a long time since I went there, plus they knocked out the old wall to the disco and extended the coffee shop.
It was absolutely crazy. There were tons of people. All three sexes were represented. I read somewhere that ladyboys or katoeys didn't go there, but that is not true.
Talent level was on average pretty bad, but there were definitely some hotties in there. I think some of the guys are too drunk at this time to realize what they are getting. The later it got, the older ladies start flocking to Grace.
I don't think it's necessarily a desperation part on some of the men who go in there looking for a late pickup. I go there for the sheer entertainment value of watching this circus. I had a early morning flight and took a newbie there to show him the sights.

i still hang out in grace a lot. not in desperation for any girls, just to have a late drink and watch the meat market!
it is also a nice place to meet some of the scene guys in bangkok, how usually do go for a drink after their venues have closed! so always a lot of people to chat with and when sometimes some nice chicks around I also do not mind a quick st or lt!
aother good option is to just meet some girls after their job in there. if I see something more interesting it is easy to switch with no loss in face if not I leave with my prearranged date!

i was there few weeks back and bumped into a gal I hadnt seen for 4 years, she had gone home for a time and came back for a spell. she thought that it wasnt too good after they changed the decor from before.
i thought it wasnt too good either. but we got it together later that night and she stayed till I went home.
funny how the gals there dont like the Nana disco and vice-versa. Grace gals seem more laid back than the Angels gals. Ruskie hookers in the Grace disco till late...
Grace didnt seem as busy for gals as it used to be...maybe I had a wrong night/time

I too have been with Wig Woman, but a few years back.
She was pretty short (even by Thai standards) but had a really big nice smile.
Anyway we we hard at it and it was a little rough so I tried a little hair pulling....Soon as I started she started too, so I pulled a little harder, and so did she...
Then the penny dropped, she was pulling the wig back on as hard as I was pulling it off. I couldn't stop laughing, she was pretty cool about it and the really weird thing was her hair underneath was really just about the same as the wig, couldn't really work out the reason for the wig.
