Haam Supp has very clearly said all that needs to be said on this subject. There is no point in quibbling about the technical meaning of brothel. His description of these low-end places are enough to send a shiver down anyone's spine. Specially his comments on a sadist who gets off by beating up these poor things. Unfortunately such men do exist, for whom sex isn't sex without some violence. It really is a shame that in a society as polite and otherwise decent, such things are allowed. Haam Supp is right that we can't stop it, at best we can refuse to enter a place that does not appear to be 100% above board.
