In my opinion, the quality of the models used by the other copycat sites; asianude4you, 88square, etc. never equaled the level of A4U. And since the demise of A4U, they seem to be employing even less attractive models; especially 88Square.
It will be great if Black Alley can continue in the tradition of A4U. Bring back the old favorites, and discover new talent that equals the likes of Irene Fah, Cho Hye Eun, Jang E Ping, Lin Si Yee, Sandra Mar, Petchara, etc., etc., etc.

The question on my mind is rather did A4U go under because they couldn't make it, or because of mismanagement?
Seems hard to imagine an erotic photography site not making a healthy amount of money.

I would say bad management decision.
I found this post. Rings true to me (except for the poor quality of english in the post). They were indeed trying to launch a more international website called Room129 during the last year of operation at A4U. And who has heard of that site? Stick to what you know.

Hi all, I think I have to say something before this story go too long ( now with 170 e-mails asking to buy my site is not fun at all! )... The reason I close Asian4You is nothing about money. It's just I want to make my new venture in other niche site. Many of you may knew that We have room129 ( Focus on models from US and Europe ) project going on. It's come to the point that we can't keep running both sites in the same time we have to choose one which we see more challenge & profit and all of my partner choose room129.com
I can't reply to all e-mail so here are something I want to say :
- I don't have any money problem.
- It's not about legal stuff.
- My photographers work only for us.
- I can't keep produce you Asian Content.
- I'm not going to sell Asian 4 You.
- Our retouching style is our specialize and not for sell
- I'm not in the prison ?!?
- I can't give you contact info of our models.
Thank you for all your support since we started. I know it looks wired and pitty to let go all rebill like faxxaff mention but I think about this clearly. I will not charge members if I don't added new content to A4Y. All members can login until they finish download all content.

Thanks for finding this -- this is quite the typical scenario.
Dumb decision - nevertheless, I'm quite sure that with the revenue generated from the old site, they made plenty of cash.
I wonder if the person who picked up A4U is an old partner of his?

I have read posts that claimed that A4U's rebills at CCBill were huge. I put that up to their business model.
With most sites of this type, you could sign up for a monthly billing, then download the content inside a month, and cancel before the next rebill.
But A4U kept subscribers hanging on so they could access the bonus content. After 3 months as a subscriber, member's got access to the exclusive area. So after the 4th payment, a subscriber could view the Nat Chanapa blow job video, for example.
They moved older exclusive content to the main members area eventually; but to get the best stuff as soon as it was released you had to keep subscribing.
I see from the join page that the black alley is going to follow this same subscription model.
BTW, don't forget to put the "the" in the URL. Otherwise you will be looking up a different black alley.
