I think it's clear to anyone what I meant but if you want to get into semantics; I'll ammend it to "people's preferences regarding sexual activity".
How's that? Accept or don't accept what you like. It's your business and you don't necessarily have to share it. That's my point and I'm finished with this topic too.

Is there a seniority system on this forum, Mr Joe?Also, I'm not sure how someone new to the forum has less of a say than an 'established' member.
There is a social dynamic that is very common. In some ways it is a meritocracy; if you have something intelligent, witty, or informative to say then people will listen. If a known member jumps in with an inappropriate comment or ambiguous joke he may be cut a little slack because the mass of previous posts has established his character. This works against some people, however, as an intelligent comment posted by someone known to be a troll will get immediately flamed.
While this group of people are "hanging around (on a street corner, maybe?)having a long discussion", up walks a guy dressed in high-heels, flowery dress and a long wig and make-up put on with a spray gun. What's your reaction?
Say '' alright mate, how's it hangin?'' ? or even "fancy a beer?"
I don't think you would no matter how considerate you are.
I think you underestimate many of the people on this group. Certainly there are some homophobes and overt racists here, but in general it's a very tolerant group of people (almost by necessity given the content of the group). Of course, the cross-dresser in your example has committed the egregious faux pas of not offering to buy us a beer first so he may get some shit for that.
As for you, you should know better than to walk into a room and start making off-color jokes without establishing yourself first and certainly you should get a feel for the room.

It seems that there has been a breakdown in communication somewhere, I really don't have a problem with gays, lesbians, S&M, Bondage or the like. Hey, it's harmless and whatever turns you on, right.
It's just the though of a fully grown hetero male decked out in womens clothes, wig and make-up that makes me laugh. See Kurt Russell in 'Tango & Cash' to get an idea of what I mean.
Well, you need to learn to control yourself a little better. Whether the guy is gay, likes katoeys, or is a crossdresser, I'm sure it gets pretty tiring having people giggle and snicker at him. Who knows if the original poster was a troll or not, but since he was new, we should give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a serious question. Your response was not very welcoming and you were admonished for it, relatively politely. It wasn't until you started criticizing other posters that you got seriously flamed.
As it is you have engendered some ill will already in the group that will have some lingering effects. If you add some useful, non-judgemental responses to other threads then this will fade quickly.

Well, seems as things have calmed a bit on this thread, enough so I might make a contribution. Regarding your comment about the xdresser walking up to us, well, been there, accepted that, more than once, and made some good friends.
Another observation and personal story: some months ago my partner in crime with whom I have pillaged much of Thailand met a ladyboy late night in Patpong. They hit it off instantly. In the months that followed, the four of us (including my TGF) shared some great moments. She was post-op, a really bright lady, a total clown in public (really off the scale), and in the process of being f_cked by society. She knew she was female from an early age, implored one of BKK's best docs for over a year to do the operation before he finally relented, and then went off to college in BKK as a top student. She has worked the Pong for about a year while she saves for grad school. Here's where reality collides: seems that LB's in Thailand are often relegated to entertainment, travel service, and make-up related careers, regardless of what they are really capable. She could go far, but she is getting frustrated by this. It is now showing up in the way she is treating her customers, as she is beginning to get a sense of the real limits of her society. This is what we are talking about in this thread -- tolerance is a tough commodity to carry with you everywhere, but it is what the majority of bro's practice here. You've seen my other post in this thread regarding people I know and love ending up in hospitals because someone decided he didn't approve of them. 'Nuf said, so I'll take my leave from this thread along with MrJoe.
