You guys should use the rule of thumb that when in doubt, assume the guy was just having fun. (Especially when he puts a smiley in his post!) I know there are a lot of clueless people on this board, but even I think twice before assuming that everyone is. We'd communicate a lot better if we all assumed, at least for a second, that the other guy isn't an idiot.

when i popped into a nana gogo bar recently i was horrified to see a bunch of loudmouthed drunk brits making this girl feel awkward. ( and i am a brit ). One guy had heer on his lap and in a moment of good ol british "high spirits" decided it would be fun/funny to force her head down on his crotch. The poor bargirl did the best to smile as waitresses stood around wondering what to do.
Yes some Brits ARE definitely scum - they simply go crazy when drinking - and lets face it - some of us brits drink a HELL OF A LOT. Anyone in any doubt that the brits cant handle their drink should read Jeremy Paxmans book "The English" where he shows that the english have been lager louts for centuries. It is not a new phenomenon. We brits revere drinking and getting drunk in a manner not many others do.

A common thing that I have heard from friends both working here and on holiday is that Thailand seems to be such a safe place. That the Thais give so few problems and that they main hassle comes from drunken farang trash.

Lets face it you can find assholes like that anywhere. What fascinates me is why they travel all the way to Bkk
to behave like that while the rest of us behave ourselves and do much better with the ladies.

Once I was on the Riverboat heading to Wat Po, and I was near the back (standing) and the 3 monks were sitting in the designated "reserved for monks" seats. There were 4 seats available and they had occupied 3 of 4. Well, a large falang lady decided she would sit in the 4th seat next to the monk. Everyone who saw this was horrified and one of the monks whispered to her that she wasn't allowed there, and this lady just got into such a huff! She took it as a personal attack and started to talk loudly, berate the monk and shook her head as if the monks were the ones at fault!!! Totally classless! I do believe that monks aren't even allowed to touch women, and so this was seen as a big "no-no". Of course the seat was clearly printed "Reserved for Monks", she was just plain rude!
