What I won't miss the most is the COMPLETE LACK OF PEDESTRIAN SENSE.
I'm a fast walker, I'll admit, but Thais must be the slowest walkers in the whole darn world.
Added to this, they may be small but one little Thai on a broad pavement will still somehow manage to find a way to block your way past, taking up space in the most inconsiderate way, veering from side to side. And, if there are two of them, OF COURSE they'll walk side by side. After all, no one wants to get past, do they? No one actually WANTS TO GET ANYWHERE, do they?! 
None of this would matter if they, like westerners, had any sense of any other pedestrians. You could be breathing down their necks, jostling them, making a ton of noise and STILL they don't realise that someone's behind them!

yeah, I like the way they'll have a meeting to decide where to go next at the top of an escalator
one of the reasons I enjoy shopping in Carrefour is because of the wider aisles
other places make it difficult to get thru any of the aisles with all the human fodder getting in the way
oh, I'd like to add that my global apathy now include wildlife, especially ducks

I don't fear the kids that are holding a clipboard. It's just a timeshare offer, not unlike those in my own community. I live in a tourist area, too.
There are several easy ways to get out of it. They want you to make an appointment. I've told them that I'm leaving that night or the next morning. They never have time slots open during the next few hours anyway, and let me go with a smile.
Quite a few of the girls are hot! If you try to hit on them, they will also back off quickly.
I agree about the police. They're the only people I'm truly wary of. In a recent poll published in BKK, a majority of Thais are also afraid of their police.
They're the only Thai people that I avoid, because I know that I can simply walk away from anyone else.

Ahhh...I wondered it this was common..
I see this trait very clearly in Mrs Minder, when we are at the supermarket or shopping centres here in farangland. Whilst others seem to sense when someone is behind them, or instinctively keep to one side, my angel is oblivious to the presence of others as they try to get past in the aisle or are shopping near her. Thank goodness she is only 45kg and does little damage because she often bumps into others - she steps backwards blindly to get a better view of the items on the shelves; turns a right angle without reason, or decides "I think it over there" and whilst looking at me points in another direction and hits some passer by in the face - she is learning to drive now and my concern is that that random force of 45kg will soon be over a ton - such is life - Enjoy.
