I'm gonna sound corny now.
It all depends on the individual. Farang and Thai.
Get to know someone and don't shoot from the
hip like I have in the past.
Usually there is not enough time to get to know
someone. That is the problem.
Most of us move quick because we only have two weeks.
Five days of which can be trying to get to know the girl any girl.
Impossible !

So some bad experiences then, atypical?
let's just say that I've had some sobering experiences in this individually made up fantasy called Thailand. ÝOf course one day, you wake up and assess what's around you. ÝThen you make a decision. ÝStay and deal or pack up and leave. ÝMany have done both, more the latter imo.
Just to point out, I don't agree with a whole lot of what stick talks about weekly. ÝIt's only one person's view. ÝAdditionally it's a Farang man's view as well which is an important note.
Here's a good question: ÝHow much rights, if any, do farangs have in the kingdom? ÝPersonal and legal rights I mean.

FWIW is right on target. Almost 99% of the guys on this board,it's a $22. joy ride that lasts a couple of hours but what a couple of hours. Thai women are a great fantasy, that goes POOF as soon as I get on the plane. Someday I may not get on that plane.

Personal and legal rights?
Thailand belongs to the Thai people. It is their country, not mine. If I choose to be their uninvited guest, the very least I can do is abide by their not very onerous house-rules. If I come to find these unacceptable - well, I know where to find the airport.
I am very grateful to be allowed to enter Thailand at will, stay here (to all intents and purposes for as long as I like) and do my own thing with minimal interference.
My own country offers Thais nothing like these privileges. That's how I regard them, anyway - privileges and not rights.
If I want rights, I'll go home.

You will be given a well-fare cheque and a house.
Especially if you are from Somalia or Kosovo.
You will not have to work!!!
You can sit around all day and talk on your mobile phone. Yet the authorities wo't let you work. So you sit around all day with your wellfare cheque and the free house. Some asylum seekers are highly qualified-but not allowed to work. So they sit around all day..etc etc.
This is a ticking social time-bomb.
What do the local Brits get after paying 30 years into the system?

One day it will blow up in the stupid government faces.
The black shirts and Moselyites need this situation to grow. The liberals do not see it as they are too busy being the World's charity. Bloody dangerous !
