I was reading somewhere recently and saw this term used... I guess there really are "brothels" in Thailand. Not MPs, not Go Gos with close ST hotels, but actual sex houses. I think I remember China Town mentioned. Any one been to one of these places?
Just curious!

I've not been to one of these places, but I've read that they are really harsh places, sort of a sexual slavery kind of thing. May have read that in Stickman or some similar site.

Once it was past 10pm and I wanted to visited nice massage. But the taxi driver told me that everything is closed after 10pm. Do I want to go to Lady House ? I did'nt know he was taking about brothel and I thought it is some kind of massage parlour. I said 'yes' as my little brother was desperate. When he stopped at some place and when he took me inside I realised it is brothel.
Realizing it is not my cup of tea I said sorry and asked taxi driver to take ma back to my hotel.

Greetings Gentlemen,
Please excuse my ignorance, but first off, what is your definiation of brothel and secondly what is the difference between brothel, g-club, MP's, or go go club??
I understand the concept of sexual slavery, but how can you recognize a brothel from the other establishments??

You make a good point, ABC. In my mind a brothel would be a place where the girls aren't allowed to leave. But in reality I know that the MPs, or for that matter any place where on premise action takes place, would be by definition, brothels.

Thanks for your definition.
Mine is more like a place where the females live as well as work (have sex). Also, they basically are not allowed to leave at any time unless supervised. I knew of places like this in Hawaii. I also did not go to those places.

I agree ABC, its hard to exactly differentiate between brothel, mp, gogo's.
But still one can differentiate based on what it offers. Brothels don't advertise like gogo bars and MP does. The girls offer just sex. No massages or dances. Brothels have some kind of slavery on girls as girls most often can't leave the premises and stays 24 hrs in brothel. G's can't be taken out unless the customer is known one.

A friend of mine got attached to a MP girl and she told us that many of the girls live on the premises,herself included as they come from up country and they feel more secure staying in the MP rather than a cheap hotel or lodgings.They also must pay for the room so I would say the MP's are a kind of brothel for sure.
It was also hard for her to leave she said.

I visited once in a "Lady House" and that was a short visit. Pretty young-looking girls were treated like a cattle when they were brought for line-up for selecting.
I just said that sorry,I don't find a lady for me here and told the driver to get me back to the hotel.
Price for the drive was bargained for 50 THB but when back in hotel the stupid man told me to pay 250 "for lost time".He probably had lost his tip from "Lady House" when no deal ws done.I pushed him a 50 and told him to go away.
And one thing more...
When the driver and I were coming to the house, a gate must be opened to get there and there was also couple guys who did not look like boyscouts.
My advise:No Lady Houses, Friends.
